Skype on the MotoQ

I know that Skype can be used on PPC phones only, but there's a video floating around on Youtube that shows how to extract the .cab and install it. It was a bit slow/slightly tedious doing it, but it was cool to know that Skype on a MotoQ is somewhat possible. Would anyone try this?

I thought there was a beta that worked on smartphones. Have you searched here, qusers.com, and everythingq.com to see if you could find out any information? I personally wouldn't bother with Skype without WiFi, but that's just a personal choice.

re

I haven't seen any info about a beta for smartphones. I had stumbled upon the Youtube video from a link on either Engadget or Gizmodo. Other than installing (you need a touchscreen to click on 'Continue' 'Install' or whatever-moving a navagational pad won't work) you'd be able to make calls by setting up a speeddial for each number.

Don't get me wrong; it's a true labor of love extracting the .cab file but when Wifi isn't available it would be cool to have Skype on your non PDA phone.
