How long until HTC Sense?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I've got my droid and I love it, but I know it could be better. How long until we get htc sense on this bad boy? The functionality that it provides I think will answer a lot of needs that people have from this phone. If there is already a way to put that ui on here, let me know! Thanks guys

Re: How long until HTC Sense?

The whole sense UI needs to be scaled to fit the screen, so I wouldn't expect it till a GSM phone comes out with this spec screen resolution.

Re: How long until HTC Sense?

I cannot recommend Beautiful Widgets enough. It's about $1.50 and gives you a nice big flip clock with weather and date. Tapping it brings up a weather forecast with animated clouds and rain (no windsheild wiper though.) Tapping the date brings up a the calendar. Very nice and almost Identical to the Sense UI's clock/weather/date widget.

They've even included toggles for all your connections that look like the sense; however I prefer the stock power widget.

Also, "Pure Grid Calendar" has a 4x4 calendar that is skinnable and resembles the sense ui's calendar screen. (also $1.50)

Not the same... but feels more like it.

Re: How long until HTC Sense?

+1 on the beautiful widgets! It looks amazing, the weather animations are nothing short of amazing and it adds the functionality of quickly accessing your calendar and alarm too. I'd say its the best "paid" app that I've put on the phone.

I also want to check out the passion if it comes out before my 30 return period is over. It's going to have to be the best thing since sliced bread to get me to trade in this Droid, but it doesnt make sense to not at least go to the store and check it out. I can actually do without the physical keyboard, but the one thing I worry about on the passion is the screen size. The Droids 3.7 inch screen is already stretching my thumb since I use it primarily one handed and I'm worried that the passions 4.3 inch screen might be to large to easily navigate while holding in one hand. I'll just have to see it and try it in person .

I cannot imagine verizon would release the passion anytime soon, they have just dumped a fortune into promoting the droid. Also lets not forget there has not been one official word of the passion yet.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. Look how long it took them to acknowledge the Droid Eris. Even the Storm II didn't get much of announcement until it was officially available. So that the fact that there is no official word means nothing.

Re: How long until HTC Sense?

I could see it going either way, it makes sense to hold out for at least 30 days after the Droids release to prevent trade ins, but it also makes sense to release a new big screen device right before Christmas.
