Question MS Exchange problem on Droid

Hi All,
My Droid phone is in the mail and I am wondering if I already need to return it. read on....

My work requires security certificates for our exchange server. On my mogul WM phone I have three security certificates installed and I can open attachments I get through my exchange server.

A buddy of my here at work has the DROID already and is reporting that since the WM security certs dont install on the DROID, the attachments on the email he gets from the exchange sever wont open. He can still sync, read and reply to emails but the lack of these certs are making the email attachments unopenable. The only work around we have found is sending the email to our personal gmail accounts and opening the attachments there.

What can be done to solve this issue or are we just doing it wrong....square block round hole.

Re: MS Exchange problem on Droid

setup the account again and open the security drop down there
you have the option to select SSL (accept all certificates)

Should we email the certs to ourselves and save to phone? Then do the above actions?

This doesn't work. We tried it twice. On two droids.

Any other advice or do I have to return the droid?

You can try an app called TouchDown. I know it is another app but I am hearing good things about it when people are having issues with exchange.

From what I have read so far it will. If you still have issues you can get a refund if you return before 24 hours is up.

Here is a link for a beta of TouchDown that is specific for Android 2.0 and the Droid.

Re: MS Exchange problem on Droid

The Droid is a no go. My boss says he isnt willing to trust untested third part apps(Touchdown) connected to our exchange server. I am returning the Droid monday. Android needs exchange support with SSL .cer certs in the native OS before I can consider an android phone.

Re: MS Exchange problem on Droid

I had the same issue, recreating the account and UNCHECKING the "accept all SSL certs" fixed this for me. It also seemed to help alot of people at the google forums:

http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4565

Give it a shot. Can't hurt anything.
