Disappearing Contacts

I''m upgrading from an HTC Touch Pro. So I used a 3rd party software called CompanionLink to get my Outlook contact to GMail, and then to my Droid. The problem is the contacts would sooner or later disappear from both the phone & G-mail. Finally I stored my contacts (shortly after I sync'd them) to the SD card. This way when they disappear I can restore them. To make matter more mysterious, importing from the SD card doesn't fully restore all contacts (even though all the contacts went to the SD card.

I'm confused. Please help! Thanx, -Z-

I was having a similar issue. What i found was that for some reason names that are close to the same are being stored under the same contact. I had a Dave and a David in my contact and they were being placed under the same contact with 2 different numbers. I had to add a letter for the last name to each to correct this and keep them separate. You may want to check that out.

Re: Disappearing Contacts

If you go into the menu while that combined contact is displayed, you can select to separate them.
