It does actually look waaay better in person than it does in any of the pictures I've seen.

OK. The chin is ugly. But, it's function over form. Here's why it has to be there... If you didn't have the chin to hold onto when the keyboard is open, you'd be hitting the buttons along the bottom of the screen. Next time you slide out the keyboard, take note of how you're holding the device and you'll see that the chin is essential. Moto engineers really got it right.
That said, this phone is bland but certainly not ugly. Amazing how much firepower is packed into this small device.

When I first saw pictures for this phone and heard all the talk about the "Sholes" I said, "wow that's ugly" and never cared about the phone again until reviews started coming out just before its launch. I saw more of it and thought again, "wow that's ugly". Then when I actually saw it in person I changed my mind and decided that it's actually a very nice looking phone. Sleek? Not really. Unique? Definitely. For those basing their opinion on pictures alone you've really got to see it in person to appreciate the design.

I also wasn't impressed by the picture till I went and seen it in person.
After I seen it in person that changed, its a very nice looking device and works even better. IV had it for over a week now and I would recommend it to anyone.
