You need to copy the update.zip to the root of your card. There might be other files named update on there that are overriding it. Be sure that the downloaded file is the only one in there, and that it is in your root directory so that it can be accessed from the bootloader screen. Mine did this (aborted) until I deleted every other update file on the root of my card and pasted the new update on there.

Re: [How-To] Force the Official Android 2.2 Froyo Update for the Motrola Droid

alright i have tried this several times and i still get "whole-file signature verification failed" and after that "verification signature failed". ive tried at least 5 of the download links, and its not the name either. it says "update.zip". im still at 2.1 and havent even gotten OTA but everyone else i know including my family has gotten it. and now i cant even force it to update. wtf

Old thread I know, but I just got the Alltel version of the Droid-Motorola Milestone-and I was wondering if I could use this?

Anyone had any luck with this? I recently bought a Motorola Milestone with Droid 2.1 and was wondering what the possibility is to run 2.2 (if it is possible).

I know the Milestone 2 coming out soon will have 2.2 installed but I have the first version... thanks Alltel!

Any luck?

Thanks.

Hi! It's an honor to know that you are not alone in your beliefs in anyway. It's sad to feel so alone in the world you believe to be the rightful one for you. But then, browsing through your site gave me a reason to stand back. Sometimes it's not what other people think of, but it's what you are showing them that makes them say you are right and suddenly you'd find out someone is really right by your side. Thanks for sharing such wonderful thoughts.
