droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

I thought that with that ROM, the update would not be detect, and a check to be installed. What happened?

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

Looks like they didn't properly remove the ability to update. You don't have to install though.

I am not going to, but it almost interupted a call. How long before it gives up trying to have me update the ROM?

I'm not sure of the answer to that. If I find out I'll let you know.

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

They intentionally left it that way because they were hoping one of their users would be in the initial batch of OTA updates so they would be the first to have it.

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

I will just have to wait and see whether the next Droidmod ROM comes out before the 2.1 update gives up.

Ronald, why don't you install AdamZ's update blocker and see if that helps?

problem got solved. I accepted the update. It stopped in the recovery menu. I rebooted and have not seen the update message.

Yeah, the Droidmod developers are saying that it was never intended to block the update, just to block the installation. The thing they didn't bother to elaborate on until after people running Droidmod received the update and the pestering notification is that you have to choose the option to install the update and then it blocks it, just like you did. I was driving nearly all day yesterday, and the notification was bugging the crap out of me the entire time. If I would have known that I was supposed to accept the install ahead of time, it would have saved a lot of frustration. Oh well. I figured it out after I got home and now all is well. The update message should not return.

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

I wish I knew that a few days ago. I was almost going to install the update because the pop up was annoying me.
