Obviously those old rom's are now so passé.

You guys need to be running something based on ESE53.

1st time I have heard of Black Droid or ESE53...something new or old...? I will look into those and compare, thanks.

Smoked.Glass.v.6.0.1-ESE53 its pretty stable what i mainly like is the theme

I agree...SMOKED GLASS has been my favorite to date. Droidmod was my second choice and BB was right up there with them. FYI Droidmod has just released a new pre-alpha for us to try and play with...I am sure with the time and care they are taking the next full version of of there ROM will be top notch.

? Dude, get the ESE53. Much better. It is the 2.1 official (almost) VZW Droid release.

EDIT: I was running DM/Sholes stuff too ... though it is awfully silent over their nowadays.

I switched from Smoked Glass to Pete's Bugless Beast 2.1 (based on ESE53) yesterday and I immediately noticed a difference in speed. Pete's ROM at 550Mhz feels MUCH faster than Smoked Glass at 1Ghz! I'm sure it has to do with 2.1 optimizations and the fact that it's pretty much stock, no themes. Check it out!

I am using Kousch's port of a CyanogenMod rom for the Nexus one. It is pretty fast and stable. It has a few good themes available for it as well.

how long do you think it will be before we get something for the 2.1 verizon has just released mines updated to that and was very disappointing with it as it seems the same. also i looked at roms and the glass rom is really good looking. any opinion. i have never rooted my phone and now that i read i will have to wait it sucks even more should have rooted and been done with it.
