general question on Games/apps

so coming from WM, is an APK file same as a CAB file?
it is basically used to install an App or Game?

and im curious to try one of the RPG games like quake or Doom, in order to do that, i just need to install the proper APK file (which loads a program/app that would be considered the game console) and then i need to get the data files (which would be considered the game cartridge or disc), am i understanding this correctly?

are all the games files in a particular format/extension?

is there any way to setup the nes emulator to use the Gsensor as the Dpad?

got the quake 2 running, but after about 1-2min it freezes the phone, then the phone restarts... any idea why?
