Re: rom questions?
if you have recovery 0.99.3b installed simply extract the nandroid you download into your sd/nandroid folder then from there do a wipe of DATA and then just do a advanced nandroid restore of the ultimate rom folder and you will start the process of applying that rom

Re: rom questions?
I've got that itchy finger thing going on getting ready to hit the old install on the Droidmod. I swore I wasn't going to mod my Droid but after all the excitement than let down regarding the OTA 2.1 I'm about ready to take the plunge.
However being a long user ( not Guru ) of Linux I recognize that there can be a lot of user hype pushing the greatness of an OS and ignoring those little quirks. So I've got to ask: If these upgraded ROM's were being pushed by Bill and company ( MS ) would they still be the greatest thing since sliced bread or would they be less than desirable? And what are the quirks? Do things really work out of the box, or with tweaks, or nope, you didn't really need that light anyways type thing. Thanks |

Re: rom questions?
These aren't like WM. There are no quirks or disabled features in them. There were a few bugs in the early roms, but now, not so much (unless you flash one that has the 2.1 launcher). Many of the roms containing the 2.1 launcher are buggy and laggy, but it pertains to the launcher itself.
These roms are very similar to stock, just with added features that can only be done with super permission (rooting) such as: Overclocking/Underclocking, WiFi Tether, Live Wallpapers, Theme changes, etc. I am running Droid Mod 1.0 and EVERYTHING plus some works perfectly. You can customize what you want in the rom when flashing, and if you don't like it, just go back to your nandroid backup and it'll be like you never modded anything. If you want to unroot, just flash the stock 2.0.1 in the DM Updater. Trust me, flashing Android is very different than WM when it comes to flashing roms.
