Re: Droid Camera
My camera just takes "ok" photos, but the video recording is great.

Re: Droid Camera
agreed, the video on my is the best ive seen on a phone...
camera isnt half bad. i think the issue is people have to high of expectations when it come to phone cameras when they read things like "5mp".... i dont use it as a main camera, but for those special unexpected moments (i have to younge kids) it works great |

Re: Droid Camera
Yea, the camera on mine isn't great. The video does turn out pretty nice though. Any inexpensive point and shoot digital will takes pictures that are like 100 times better...phone cameras just aren't that great yet (but there are certainly better ones than the Droid has).

Re: Droid Camera
I definitely don't expect it to replace my digital camera, but I do use my phone quite a bit for pics when out and about. I was just surprised at how poor the quality is compared to the Touch Pro that I gave up for the Droid. I guess I'll just deal with it and hope 2.1 has some improvements in that area.

Re: Droid Camera
The quality of the "5mp" camera is disappointing. Especially with the dual LED flash. The video is good I have to say. But, when you try to succeed at too much, you fail at much more. A stand alone camera will always be better than something with a camera built in. At least it has a good OS, great processor, fantastic screen, etc. I can deal with a crappy camera considering all the other great things "Droid Does". (I know, I couldnt help but be a little lame with that quote

Re: Droid Camera
My Omnia had a great camera. It was by far the best camera I've seen on a cell. My wife has a LG Dare with a 3.2mp camera and it does better than my Droid. I think that if it weren't for it sucking in low light situations (which are the majority of pictures taken by a cell) it would be decent. I have noticed that the pictures look better when reviewing them than they do on the screen at the moment of taking them. I'll have to say, the Droid does take better pictures than my Nextel i580. Re: Droid Camera
I think the general consensus is the phone camera is not spectacular. The videos are surprisingly clear (however I have had mine 'stutter' before), but the pictures are decent for what it is. What I have found more annoying than that is the Facebook mode for the camera. The pictures it takes is absolutely horrid. I don't know if there is a way to change the quality, but I have looked all around and can't find it.

Re: Droid Camera
+1 on the touch pro camera, it was great for a phone.
this camera has been a little disappointing. i have noticed that there is a sweet spot for the flash, too close you get a white pic, too far, you get a black pic. seems kind of obvious, but there isnt much latitude in that spot. other phones have been more forgiving. it allcomes down to the lens, moto needs to get a higher quality lens in there.
