G-watch for android

so ive been looking all morning (in the app store and online) to try and find a program that does the same as g-watch on WM...

it basically allows you to save your current location (name it what ever you want) and save as many as you want (for example different fishing spots on a lake) and then you can select any saved location and it will give you the direction and distance to it (and show a compass with your heading and the direct to the saved location...

best of all it does this with out cell coverage, a complete stand alone system...

does anything like this exist on Android?

worked real well when on a business trip to Poland and walked around town.. i could save my hotel, different restaurants, etc..

thanx

Tres Bien! Petitpoucet!

A programmer over at reddit.com made this app for hikers and fishermen! Sounds exactly like what you want. (I use it just for kicks and giggles.)

Basically you place stones down on your map. You can name them and even attach a photo. It's designed with hikers in mind so it's simple and fast. A really good app.

Re: G-watch for android

you may also want to try OruxMaps. You can download your maps offline (with a desktop app that's from some openmap source group - very cool) or use a blank map (if you don't have cell cvg to get google maps). You can do normal handheld GPS type stuff with this app - save waypoints and tracks, name them, etc...
