Suggestions for getting WiFi tethering working reliably?

So, as many of you know, we now have WiFi tethering on the Droid. Root users can get the installer here:

My question is: has anyone got this working in a reliable manner? If so, what tricks have you used to get it working?

Mine has worked a few times, but more often than not it will connect for a few minutes then just stop transmitting data. My laptop remains connected to the phone, but it appears that the phone just isn't routing the data right.

If anyone else has run into issues please post them here, hopefully we can get some ideas going for getting wifi tethering working like it should. Thanks in advance for everyone's ideas.

i use PDAnet, a free app in the market.
you dont need to be rooted.

Yes, I've been using PDANet as well, but it doesn't let you connect via wifi (my preferred method, since I don't always have USB cable around).
