Questons about the alarm clock function

I have noticed that sometimes when I set my alarm it does not go off. Sometimes it works fine. It seems kind of random.
Does it going off or not have anything to do with me killing apps with ATK? It will still show that the alarm/s are scheduled although it does not go off. Usually, I will kill all apps right after I plug the phone into the charger every night to end all running programs. I just don't see why the alarm would stay scheduled if ATK killed it and it was no longer going to go off.

I had the same problem. I installed this program and now it works like a charm. Good luck.

Re: Questons about the alarm clock function

I think you are on the right track. I've found that Killing Apps creates similar kinds of issues so I stopped doing killing apps (applications with clocks stop working, widgets don't update, timers stop working)

From what I understand the Android platform is very good at managing available memory and will close programs as it sees fit, negating the need to manually kill apps.

The consensus for the most part on this forum is that Task Killers are really only beneficial for troubleshooting issues on the Motorola Droid. I would say you need to a'banden' your WinMo ways and come to the dark side... I've actually uninstalled my task killer.

Re: Questons about the alarm clock function

I agree. Killing apps can cause issues with certain programs i.e. Alarm, Clock/weather widgets.......

Let the Droid manage all that stuff.

Re: Questons about the alarm clock function

Thanks everyone. I like using ATK to close programs like Pandora or reset the browser. I guess I'll just have to watch when I use it.
ROSSI: What exactly does that file do? Thanks

You can make all of the apt killing programs ignore weather widget and alarmclock.

Re: Questons about the alarm clock function

it's just a replacement of the alarm apk that is actually dependable. Hasn't missed a set alarm yet.

very clever pun banden.
Yes, i have "Perm"inated task killer myself. Got out of the WM mindset, and haven't had a problem with memory leak, etc. it is such a relief compared to WM
