more ???'s about this thing

I have the car dock. So I put the thing in the dock and went to the map and there I am, on the map right there. But I can drive off the map and the thing doesn't follow me. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there a way to limit what is synched to the fone from GMail? It's sending me the contents of the trash bin.

Open 'Gmail' in your apps list.
Tap the Menu button
Tap 'Settings'
Tap 'Labels'
Select the Trash Folder then select 'Sync None'

As for the car dock... not sure... haven't played with it yet (just got mine today.)

there is no trash folder there on the list of folders to choose from.......

Is your question about the map specific to using the car dock or using Maps/Navigation in general? Do you need to hit menu->My location?

Hmmm... on mine it says: [Imap]\Trash

It seems to be working in a way it was not intended on your device. If it was me I would remove the account, power cycle the device, then re-add it in hopes of resolving this.

Wish I had better info for you Sarge.

I did that with the phone in the dock, and drove right off the map, so to speak.

Regarding the trash folder sync, I can't remove the gmail acct without whacking the phone back t the default......or so it tells me when I try.

If I go to GMail...settings....labels....."trash" is not shown there. But if I go to the GMail menu and then "Labels", there it is.

If you're just in Google Maps then the map doesn't move with you unless you select "My location" from the menu. When I click "See map" from the car home screen it actually defaults to my location and follows me. If it isn't doing that for you then something is screwy, and I don't know what to tell you.

If you touch the map to see a different location, it will not go back to following you until you hit 'My Location' again.
