Android 2.1 successfully ported to Rooted Droid
Android 2.1 is now running on a rooted Droid! If you would like to have it on your Droid, make sure your phone is rooted and read this post for the instructions http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=210&t=815

Still has some bugs. GPS does not work correctly for all people. Landscape can be an issue. Keyboard backlight does not work. Other things still being reported.
Definitely a better try though.

I downloaded and ran it for a few, things just didn't quite seem ready for prime time. List scrolling was super jumpy, apps disappeared from the app store, GPS worked - but was off by a block or so. Oddly enough, my backlight worked just fine though.

Yeah, I just checked out the video and 2.1 seems awesome. I'm going to wait out for the official OTA update which will hopefully be available to us in January. The back lighting and GPS issues for the keyboard are definitely preventing me from giving it a try now because I use the physical qwerty and GPS pretty often.
