Because that was done for Sony Ericsson. They put their badge on it and removed the HTC branding.

either way i already sent for the rebate im stuck with the droid which isn't that bad anyways so im all good.

Yeah, I definitely dont feel "stuck" lol. The Droid is an amazing phone, but with phones advancing the way they have been, there will always be something bigger and better right around the corner. We have 2 accounts also, and they alternate on renewal times so I'm due for an upgrade on the other line in May

, and then this one again in Nov.

i JUST made new contracts a few weeks ago.. lol so im not inline for a upgrade til we got 2GHz PDAs with a 7" screen and Android 10.4

I'm just happy that I have a 1 year contract

After thinking it over, I think I would stick with the Droid even if the HTC device came out soon because I need a hardware keyboard to play the emulators I like.

The two things I covet from the Dragon/Passion/Bravo/Incredible/Nexus1 (lol) is the Trackball, and the Snapdragon processor, everything else is pretty much a wash. That being said, the Droid isnt slow by any means, and will definitely keep me happy for awhile.

I also sent in my rebate for the droid. didn't stop me from returning it today in hopes of the incredible's upcoming release.

Don't forget the supposed AMOLED screen. Don't get me wrong, the screen on the Droid is beautiful, but next to my wife's Omnia II, it looks washed out. That 3.7" AMOLED display on the Omnia II is GORGEOUS!

AMOLED will definitely be the standard very soon and supposedly even uses less battery while providing a brighter more vivid picture. I didnt list it though because the current WVGA LCDs are pretty damn good too so I dont have as much of a desire for a newer screen like I did on the older resistive screens

I was under the impression that the processing power was actually more of a wash too. Raw Ghz != speed. The Droid graphic processing power is supposed to be much better, so much that they trade performance benefits depending on what you're doing. Couple that with the battery loss and no hardware keyboard, and I'm not so sure this Dragon/Passion/Incredible/Nexus One isn't just a lateral move.

Nonetheless, choices and competition are always good.
