Looks like rumors were right, HTC posts widgets in Market
Check this out:
http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/17/h...ndroid-phones/ Looks like everyone who speculated that HTC would be offering widgets in the Android Market was right. So far the widgets can only be downloaded on the Hero and the Eris though. I was really hoping that they would sell them to people running non-HTC phones, but I can't say that I really expected it. I think it would be great if they sold them to non-HTC phone people, but maybe continued to offer them for free to people with an HTC phone. They make more money, people still have the incentive to get HTC phones, and we get awesome widgets! |

Booo to HTC for making it unavailable for all Android devices. I'm starting to see a little bit of Apple in HTC.

It seems like this is why HTC got rid of Beautiful Widgets. They wanted to release their own widgets on the market place and didn't want any competitors in making widgets. If they really want to put a product in the android market place that'll turn heads, they should sell Sense for $10 or so.
