Anybody else annoyed by word completion?

Ok so the droid is an amazing device yes, there are only some minor things that i dont really like, one of which is the word completion well i at least want the option to turn off the wordcompletion of the on screen keyboard.

I can't seem to find any options to turn off the word completion, i know its nice in some cases but its just annoying me and the whole reason i like a qwerty keyboard is to avoid word completion.

thanks

I'm kinda just the opposite, I wish I could turn the word completion on for the physical KB.

I am with you here. I hate that I lose spelling and word complete when using the keyboard. As far as the word completion goes when you type a word or phrase in that isn't really a word like when txting and you type (u) for the word you I found that it always did a replace and changed it to I so my text would say what do I want to do instead of what do u want to do. Made for some interesting replies. What I just discovered though was if you type the word in and before you go to the next word long press in the suggestions on your "custom word". This will add these items to the dictionary then i find as I type i get about three of four letters in and I can just tap the word in the suggestions I want and it speeds my texting and email up considerably.

Re: Anybody else annoyed by word completion?

Yes, there is a way to turn off "auto completion". It's under settings/ language and keyboard/ Android keyboard (onscreen keyboard settings)
