I would say that you should stop underestimating Motoroal and Google and maybe invest some time in proof reading your post.

I had 4 Touch Pros fail in a month (touch screen failures), when the last one went I went to a Verizon store and basically told them I wasn't leaving the store without a working phone. They hemmed and hawed a while because the only two they list as "comparable" are the TP2 and the Diamond 2, but neither are carried in the store. They offered an Imagio, but I told them that wasn't comparable and suggested a Droid. It took a while, but I pay them a lot of money every month and they went for it. I've been extremely happy and will not be going back to Windows Mobile... and I've invested a fair amount of money in SW for it, Android is just light years better.

EDIT: I decided to also contribute something useful to the conversation as well. I don't regret the decision at all, mainly because the TP2 wasn't enough of an upgrade over the TP to justify the cost. The processor was essentially the same, same cam, same RAM, same, same, same... On a side note, my wife picked up an Omnia II at the same time as I got the Droid, and though I must admit it is snappy for a Windows Phone, I am absolutely flabbergasted as to how slow the Droid makes it look. I am amazed at how lightweight and quick they have managed to make the Android OS, it just seems to do everything quicker. One thing about the Omnia though, if you want a nice cam, D*MN!!! That thing takes beautiful pics

TP2 was nice, but this thing is a BEAST! I just got my Droid in the mail today and I've already downloaded about 45 free apps, I just had to stop myself because I was wasting my day...the speed of that thing is ridiculous. The droid is the truth. The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't seem to be able to dial numbers and names...you know, since no one remembers anyone's number these days. I know I don't. That part sucks for real. If anyone has an app for that know something that I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

I have a TP2 on Sprint and considered a Droid, but there are still a few things that would hold me back from making the switch. I couldn't stomach paying 3x as much per month for less service with VZW, that was the biggest hinderance. Then I compared the keyboard (which I use a lot) and there is no comparison. The Droid may have a nice keyboard for an Android phone, but it simply doesn't come close to TP2. The last thing that bothered me was lack of any decent video player (capable of playing unconverted xvid movies).

If someone can refute those three points, I'll eat my foot, but until then there is no comparison.

I cant refute those THREE points, I'd have to say you are probably better off with the TP2 if those are the things that are most important to you. The Sero plan is the exception, and not the norm in plan prices and you should probably ride that out until they force you off of it because nobody will beat that price. Most people are not going to see as much of a rate increase as you would. I would (and did) choose : Proper 2D and 3D acceleration, augmented reality apps, Google Navigation, Voice search, widgets, faster smoother processor, and larger app market over the better Keyboard and CorePlayer. If I were you, I would be hard pressed to leave a SERO plan too, except that Sprint doesnt even have 3g Service in my area. The video conversion really isnt a big deal either, at least not to me anyway. It uses the same format as the iPhone so there is literally unlimited video out there thats already in the right format.

I was at first debating between the TP2 and droid but when i tried out the droid for the first time, I made my mind up. Even though the tp2 has a better keyboard, the Droid is so much quicker and the 16 million color capacitive screen beats the tp2's screen any day.
