Re: Please help keep my Droid from waking me (and my wife) up!
I use K9 email and it only notifies me when the email arrives. I don't remember the native apps doing what you describe either.

Re: Please help keep my Droid from waking me (and my wife) up!
I had a customer with the same problem with hotmail. The droid keeps saying that theres new email when you already checked it or not, There is something wrong with hotmail and the droid setup. I tried everything i could from my end. Finaly solution being that I just forwarded her hotmail to her gmail and made her gmail send out email as her hotmail address. as far as i know there is no real fix to this yet. maybe later OTA update for this problem will see.

FoxyRing FTW. I LOVE this app. Check it out: http://www.androlib.com/android.appl...ring-qxim.aspx

Well that sucks that there's not solution for this. I just disabled the notifications for now. Now I just have to check it periodically. I hope this gets fixed.

Can you just put your device in Airplane mode(radio off) while you sleep? Then you can still use the alarms to wake you up and in the morning turn the radio back on to download any email/updates/messages.

P.S. Did you look at Foxyring? You can set it to not let your phone ring or alert you to messages or email during certain times. You can also set certain contacts to an exception list so that they can call you during those hours as well. Last edited by breakmyfootoff; 12-15-2009 at 04:14 AM. |

I saw someone post that the two apps complement each other so I may have to give it a look. |

Foxyring can actually be used as a plug in for Locale, its just a dedicated volume app and includes a feature that adjusts ringer volume automatically based on ambient noise. Ringer is louder in noisy environments and softer when there is less ambient noise present.
