Re: Thinking about getting the droid

I used the task manager to end all of the running apps (there were 20 something running in the background!) and everything was immediately responsive. Most people don't realize that the Droid does not have an 'X' button and whenever you exit out of an app or program, all it does is minimize it. After ewatching one review of the phone, the reviewer showed the task manager app and had a bunch of programs open yet complained that it was slow! I can run around 8-10 apps and still have the phone quick and responsive but when I start doing more, it becomes gradually slower. This same thing was true of the WM6.5 I had on my touch pro. Once I started closing apps, it became responsive as well.
I find comments like these interesting. I have yet to find a time when my Droid slows down no matter how many apps I have open. Do you find this to happen with specific apps or are you saying all apps after a certain point?

By task manager do you mean the running services app in settings?
