Please advise - how to ditch TP2 for DX?

Hey all - thanks for reading.

I've had a TP2 since it came out, but had an absolutely aggravating experience with it. Incredibly laggy, buggy, and maddening. I watched a youtube review/demo of the Droid X, and there is ZERO comparison - the responsiveness alone is unbelievable. Couple that with the fact that everything Google touches turns to gold...I need a Droid X!

Here's the rub - I'm 8 month away from a NE2. Is it worth paying my $89 deductible to Asurion, and try to resell whatever they're sending out these days? Don't suppose they'd hook me up with a DX...

Or I could try to sell my TP2 on Ebay being honest about its failings, which I'm pretty sure are hardware-related.

What do y'all think?

Please help me get to DroidX land!!

Many thanks.

verizon does annual upgrades. i was only 11 months into my 2 year contract and they let me get it for 200 after rebate. you just dont get the 50 bucks off that you would get if you wait till your NE2 date.

Also if you have the primary line and your plan is over $80 a month on your line then you can upgrade annually and still have the same discounts as waiting two years. This is only if you are the primary line, you can have other lines on your plan, but they don't get this offer. I have been doing this, but you have to wait until the 1 year date if you do this.

i think you're mistaken. You only get the 50 dollar off NE2 discount for waiting till the NE2 date. if you get the same discount at the 1 year mark, then what would be the point of the NE2 discount program?

Re: Please advise - how to ditch TP2 for DX?

On the primary line, you get an annual upgrade (every 12 months), which is discount pricing (same price as a new person walking in getting a 2yr contract). Waiting for NE2 gives you an additional $50 - $100 off the discount pricing, depends on your contract.

He posted the question in the TP2 forum as well as a Droid X forum...I was just referring him back to those posts so that I didn't post the same thing here.

By the way, just got my DX today....I guess it's coming to the end of my TP2 days!! Well, my wife may take over the TP2 til she finds something on VZW she likes, so I'm sure I'll keep flashing!! lol
