When the news of HTC’s new HTC Touch Viva leaked, the part most difficult to believe was that it would come with TouchFlo3D, given its rather meager 200 Mhz processor. It turns out HTC anticipated this, and made a less processor intensive but still stylish version called TouchFlo 2D. It features most of the enhancements of TouchFlo 3D, as can be seen from the video below.
As usual, the busy people at XDA-Developers have liberated the software from the Viva ROM and made it available for all of HTC’s other phones. The software is now available for download from this XDA-Developers thead. Its not perfect yet,but its pretty close, and will certainly make users of current generation devices not feel completely obsoleted.

(Nov.4's update. Update 20 is up)

Kushiel came up with the fix to run M2D on a certain device. Fortunately, It works on most non HTC device either. all credits should go to him and pls. thank him if U see him for this great fix. arigold1 of XDA and PPCGEEKS came up with this tip so I would like to give him credit for learning that it works for most non HTC devices. give him thanks as well.

Instructions for Non-HTC devices
1. Install update 14 from first page
(I have verified that this can also be used with update 15, I did have to skip installing HTCAlbum but this is already built into my ROM)

2. After installation when it asks you to reboot choose cancel

3.Install Manilla2D_NonHTC_Patch.CAB

4. Reset, DONE!

If Your planing to install this files, Please, It's very important to back-up all ur files before doing so. This is not totally 100% yet. It's a work in progress. U might have to hard reset if the UI does not work as it should. Custom ROM's have more success rate on having this files installed. Thanks

Manilla2D (M2D) Disables any and all other Homescreen Plugins, just so you know.
If Weather Graphics are missing, you are still using an older test Cab without all the graphics.
If you still can't select a city after installing the Audiomanager, You are missing a HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml in your Windows Folder.

Youtube alternative:

If youtube app does not work for U, Try this alternative. It's not as pretty as the diamond youtube but it works. thanks to hellraiser_osu for this.be sure to back up ur files and entries.

Install YoutubePlay (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385227)
Open up Regedit
GO to:
HKLM>Software>HTC>Manila2D>InternetWidget>Customiz ed>0
Changed CustomizedURL to
\Program Files\youtubeplay\youtubeplay.exe
That will launch the Youtubeplay app.

Opera Browser:
In order for the opera browser to work, U should copy the .exe and .lnk to windows root directory. Thanks to wytecaztle for the tip.

Ok, first DL the file I attached below.VJbrisk.exe
Put it on windows and rename it to operaL.exe (backup ur operaL.exe)
Now, Make a shortcut of skyfire. U can use resco for this. (remember, making a shortcut is different from copying the file)
after U made the skyfire shortcut, rename it to VJTarget.lnk and put it on windows folder.
Go to M2D internet tab and launch the browser. U'll be surprised it's skyfire.

Goto settings\today and unselect Touchflo, then with your fav regeditor...

The Key 0 holds the info for the Youtube Program, change it if you want or...
1. Change CustomizedCount to 2. (Keep incrementing for each item you place on the page.)
2. Add a new key "1" (2,3, etc for each item you add)
3. In Key 1,
.... add string "CustomizedIcon" value=\windows\Earth.bmp ( I used HH_INTERNET_EARTH.bmp and resized it to 22*23 pixels and named it Earth.bmp)
.... add string "CustomizedTitle" value= "Internet Explorer"
.... add string "CustomizedURL" value= \Windows\iexplore.exe
.... add DWORD "NoDescription" value= 1 (dec)

Exit regeditor and then go to settings and reselect Touchflo

you can point to a URL instead of a program.
Can you change this line
.... add string "CustomizedURL" value= \Windows\iexplore.exe
to
.... add string "CustomizedURL" value= \Windows\iexplore.exe (can point to URL eg. http://ppcgeeks.com)

The String "CustomizedDescription" with text for the value doesn't seem to work. I imagined it would show a popup of sorts when the icon was held but nothing.

Audiomanager continuous play with screen display off. Thanks to primenall for this trick

First open Reg editor and go to HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager\Config

Now create a new "DWord value" name it DisableSuspend and give it a value of 1

(You can also change the value of "enter suspend" to 0 but with my new key it should change it on reboot anyways)

This was done on a Sprint Touch

That workaround to make skyfire your default browser will make skyfire launch when you try and click on a link from an email or text message. Only problem is when Skyfire launches it goes through the login process which I think messes things up and just opens up to the default main page for skyfire. It won't go directly to the link. Now I don't know if the newer version of skyfire works with links. I haven't tried it yet since I saw so much negative feedback for it.

I know what you mean. I'm an alpha tester for SkyFire's pre-beta builds. I've had no luck with external links when clicking links out of e-mails when Skyfire is the default nor by searching specific URL's from within the Today plugin.
