if it is a .nbh then you can place on storage card has a backup, this is not needed, but in the future if you are on the road, and want to reset your device, this is nice to have. Otherwsie you just connect it to PC and run a .exe file. There needs to be a modified SPL, (Hard SPL) this will bypass security checks that HTC places on there, these security checks are in place to prevent modified firmwares from being placed on device, but once that is modified and placed on device, then you are welcome to add tweaked roms to your device at will. But without that, then you wont be able to add anything. And so at this point in time there is no tweaked roms, because this file is yet to be hacked together and everything. This is then called a custom rom, a rom that is modified with user tweaks and and modifications, these tweaks can be used to update programs that are used in device, to adding in new features from future devices and everything else, this is then also optimized with registery tweaks, to make batter life longer and performace on everything better overall for everything. The place that is used to make these modified files in are called a Kitchen, and it is called this because it is what you are cooking up, and you always cook in a kitchen, so that is how that term comes to place withe everything. So a Chef (Person that makes ROMS) makes his creations in a Kitchen. The radio is what is used to detect towers and everything, the radio can be updated to newer ones, and some radios work better then others, some have better GPS, some have better reception, some have better battery life, it tends to depend on what are you are in, and everything, so you have to test all of this yourself to know what works best for you. The radio can be flashed from a PC, plug device into PC and then run the .exe and it will install everything. When you are restarting your device, you will see Orange letters, and they will have an R- this is your radio version, and so that is a way you can check everything. I am hoping this will clear everything up for you a little bit. |

Re: Anyone looking for a VZW Whitestone Shipped? Get it HERE
How to back up settings, create new ROM possibly
I made all these changes to my Imagio since I received it, i.e. put on SPB Mobile Shell, finger keyboard, adjusted alot of the settings. How do I back this up and be able to install again exactly how it is now if I need to do so. Is there a particular application that I use. What instructions do I need to do. I like my settings and what I put on the Imagio but dont want to go through the process of doing it all again if I do something to do the phone. I would like to be able to click on one button, run the exe file and presto, the Imagio looks like before it crashed. Please advise. Last edited by slumpey326; 10-21-2009 at 09:08 AM. |

Re: Anyone looking for a VZW Whitestone Shipped? Get it HERE
after I back everything up via spb backup what do I do if my Imagio crashes. Do I hard reset it normally let the normal rom load again and then afterwards run spb back up to have everything looking like it did before. Or do I just load the exe. file from spb backup and let it run and it will load the rom and everything else. For the second option do I have to be in bootloader to do it.

To access bootloader mode on imagio, do the following:
-Power down device. -Press and hold the "-" volume key (volume down NOT up). -Power up the device, release volume key once bootloader mode has shown on the screen |
