Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.3.0 [23-Dec-2010]
a few other problems ive found in htc messaging. in all messages under the menu the last two 2 options which are sms groups and search are not marked properly, only 4 boxes show were the text should be. that and either the battery use has been extremely extended or the meter is stuck on 100 for longer than it should be, ill recycle power and see where it lands. mine has been at 100% all morning, very unusual...

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.3.0 [23-Dec-2010]
oh, after i recycled power it went to 96. still, maybe this system has much better power saving capabilities? usually id be around 80 something % by now either way im not complaining about that, lol...

when trying to send a pic after taking the pic from the camera app it hangs on the choose mms or email screen, but will work if you send from the album app in sense. also i noticed this is the only way i could get an mms to send succesfully, if i tried to attach a pic in htc messaging i would get a failure to send mms message

hmm, not sure. i will try and duplicate the problem and see if it works, maybe i just didnt have a good enough network connection at the time. also i was wondering if someone could point me in the dierection to where i could find the wifi program thats in settings/connections thats used for adding and connecting to wifi networks. i want to add it to the windows start menu so i can set it as a quick link, but i cant find it in the windows folder.

also i think i figured out the alarm problem that someone was having before. if you set the alarm by clicking the alarm icon in the calander widget the alarm does not sound or vibrate, but if you set it through the settings/clocks & alarms it works. |

mm7kcpuspeed_v2.cab - for a visual on the clock speed mm7k_nosod.cab - fixes the SOD on phone calls i think you need mortscript-4.2-PPC.cab in there as well, or maybe that was for the oct-v1.5 oc method, i dont remember, i need it for a few apps though so if you dont have it already it cant hurt... |

yea, usually if something isnt in the start/programs folder i can find it in the windows directory and copy and paste a shortcut into the start/programs folder so i can set it as a quick link, but i cant find anything in the windows directory or any of its sub directories that has to do with wifi. also, does anybody know how to turn off that beep that happens when you place a phone call when the call connects, before it rings? i turned off the 'vibrate on connect' in the settings/phone directory, but i cant find any settings that disable the beep on connect... |
Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.3.0 [23-Dec-2010]
I hope everybody had a great holiday!
Sorry for the long absence, I finally got the chance to get away for a few days and hang with the family! I am still trying to catch back up, but here are a few answers to the questions over the last couple days. -Installing that old version of swype over the new one in the ROM and uninstalling it will not remove Swype from the ROM. It will however remove it from the input list and most likely break the new version so you can't use it later. This will not affect the new VM text alert. As far as the voicemail text messages, it is embedded into a dll of the latest HTC 1.8 messaging. I have been working on getting rid of it for months with many great minds, still no dice. Basically there are two options with HTC messaging; use the older packages without the obnoxious vm text alert and deal with a much, much slower messaging service, or, use the newer and faster messaging and just deal with the texts. I am still working on fixing it, but please don't expect it anytime soon. -The last two options in HTC messaging Inbox/Menu, are SMSGroup and Search (in that order). They will be fixed in the next release. -Sending a pic from the camera is a major bug that was caused by including WM messaging. I am looking at a way of still including it, but with working send pic from camera. Quote:
-For those having issues with the default wallpaper still showing up at boot, you can change this at Start/Settings/Home, click on "Browse" and select your wallpaper. Task bar and softkeybar can be changed by; on the Home tab, select menu/Set Wallpaper/Skin Taskbar and Softkeybar, select your wallpaper and soft reset. -SIM card does not need to be unlocked, just installed @sonami, -The program you are looking for is called WiFiNetwork.exe in the windows folder. Just create a shortcut for it and throw it in Windows/Start Menu/Programs. Also, WiFiSettings.exe will do the same, but it is the ugly WM version of WiFi. -sceadwe also suggested getting a Twitter account to keep everybody updated and I thought that was a great idea. I now have a Twitter account @ Project: Teya [Twitter] Beware, I am new to Twitter, so give me a chance to figure it out a little. Hopefully I answered most of the questions that arose over the last couple days. If I missed anything, let me know and I will do my best to get an answer to you. |

Sent a lil something your way Jmart via paypal
"-Installing that old version of swype over the new one in the ROM and uninstalling it will not remove Swype from the ROM. It will however remove it from the input list and most likely break the new version so you can't use it later. This will not affect the new VM text alert" I must have misread his question. What this did indeed fix was my phone saying i still had a text message and i didnt. The led would also constantly flash. thus draining my battery. removing swype from the input seemed to do the trick. i was able to reinstall the swype which worked but then the false alert would come back. My other issue is i frequently use rss hub in conjunction with windows media player alot. Including listening to podcast. When you try to switch from one podcst to another windows media player freezes alot. lockin up the device needing a soft reset. also there are frequent lockups of rss hub without even using windows media for podcast. Just flipping from one feed to another causes an epic fail withen rss hub. I can usually force my way to the home screen where i use memmaid or the task killer to kill the actual process. The app isnt running but you have to kill the actual process. Other than that its smooth sailing with this rom . |

Usually the unread "ghost" message is a result of toggling to WM messaging. The white screen that you get in bootup when using WM messagin is actually what fixes the unread count. However, if you had toggled back to HTC messaging and the unread shows up, the only way to fix it is to toggle WM messaging back on, reset, toggle off and reset (hopefully that made some sense). It should then be cleared out, but may/probably will come back. Best thing to do is figure out which messaging service you want to use and stick with it from a clean flash. Otherwise, I can guarantee that unread message notification will eventually popup. Having both messaging options in one ROM has been a nightmare! I wish everybody liked HTC messaging as much as I do. As far as RSS hub, I don't use it often, but I will play with it more and try to duplicate your problem. |

*edit* i found them using total commander, the wifinetwork.exe was the one i was looking for, but neither of them show up with file explorer. i also had to go into the properties with total commander and uncheck 'hidden' in order for them to show up in Windows/Start Menu/Programs when adding it as a quick link. anyway thanks! im in the process of moving right now from oakland to denver, but after i get settled in you got a donation coming your way for all your hard work... to give an update on the wallpaper issue i was having. im not sure what i did, but after going back through and basically resetting all the wallpapers to what i already had them as and then soft resetting the phone, it stopped reverting back to the original default wallpaper. maybe something just didnt get set fully the first time around or something. also, i just switched my start menu theme to the wp7 skin, i really like it, but i was wondering if there is a way to change it from a list view to a 4 column grid view while still keeping the wp7 style theme? things are just so much more aesthetically pleasing and easier to maneuver in a grid view rather than a list view. |

I haven't offered a grid view for the start menu since all the programs are individualized (not in folders) If people would like, I can include this in the next release. Maybe an option of list, 3 grid and 4 grid? Let me know guys |

It appears to the time in milliseconds the cpu checks the clock speed. the lower the # the more often it checks,, thus more cpu power drawn. i would leave it at 200 |
Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.3.0 [23-Dec-2010]
hey jmart. thanks for the update and im glad you decided to make a twitter
:D so after using the rom for several days now I have come across a few bugs that were annoying but not game-breaking. most of them involved CHT in some way. 1. The first bug is the trouble with wm messaging, and mostly mms being broken. over time with your rom i have actually come to like htc messaging. and its working rather well aside from the voicemail text messages. but id rather have faster messaging with that bug. 2. second is my trouble with CHT, when i open the right softkey menu and click edit home layout it will bring up the editing screen with the ok and advanced buttons etc but i cant do anything but click those two buttons. i cant add/remove objects or move anything on my homescreen. the odd thing is this bug is only intermittent in occurence. if i tap ok then reopen the edit home layout menu it works fine. 3. the last bug also pertains to CHT. so i have 3 contact free links on my main homescreen and then on the right side homescreen i have my office mobile shortcut free links. the weird thing that happens here sometimes is that the excel quick link will change its icon to one of my contacts icons that are on my main homescreen. it still opens excel but looks like my contacts icon. the only way ive found to temporarily fix this is to delete and replace the excel free link. other than these few bugs i have not had any trouble with the rom and am in love. although i do have a couple suggestions for the rom. my first suggestion is to add a registry editor so its easier to make necessary reg edits when i first boot up without having to install phm registry editor. the other suggestion is to add a way for the user to add a shortcut to the people/contacts list to the homescreen or on the CHT slider. i was trying to figure out how i could do that but came up blank. anyways keep up the good work jmart. very happy :D |
