is there a reason why the NBH is significantly larger in size than the EXE? 170mb vs 128mb

The .exe is a highly compressed file while the .nbh is not. The .nbh within the .exe is exactly the same size when uncompressed and flashed.

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

Just flashed with the .exe, seemed to complete fine. On restart, my phone hangs at the HTC quietly brilliant screen. Anyone else have this happen? I figured out how to connect it in bootloader screen & am trying to reflash now, see if that corrects it.

Update: no dice for me, still sticks on splash screen. Or am I just not giving it enough time, longer than 3 or 4 min to change screens?

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

It stayed on that screen for less than a minute and went to the Teya one.six.zero with the green progress bar for me and installed fine.

However, I did not use the .exe file to install the ROM. I extracted all the files using WinRAR and then ran the ROMUpdateUtility.exe executable to install the ROM on my Imagio.
You may want to try the following:

1. Remove the microSD card and then install the ROM
2. Extract the .exe file to a folder and install using ROMUpdateUtility.exe
3. Copy the nbh file to a 8GB or smaller microSD card and enter the bootloader mode to install the ROM from the microSD card

Hope it works out.

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

I flashed from 1.4.0 to 1.6.0, however, when attempting to install my addtional apps, I discovered that cab files would not launch. I did not attempt to reflash, but went back to 1.4.0. Anyone else having this issue?

I also noticed that the Microsoft My Phone app was not present in the ROM either. This was actually the cab file I was trying to install when I discovered that cabs would not run.

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

Jmart, some quick feedback based on a few minutes of playing with the ROM:

- ROM is fast, especially with WiMoSpeed set to 691MHz
- Plus code dialing works fine
- Youtube worked fine too
- Everytime I make a change in CHTeditor and exit, I get an error. But the change takes place.
- Battery drain is high. Maybe something I am doing wrong? Battery level went from 72% to 17% in the matter of a couple of hours of very little use. Will let it run down to zero to check if it is just an error in the reporting
- Would like more control over backups. How do I add PIMBackup to my quick links? When I try to install PIMBackup from my storage card, it opens up PIMBackup right away. Is it already installed? If so, it does not show up in the list of programs.
- I added Whip2snap as a quick link but program would not open -- does not exist error. Re-installed and it worked.
- It will be nice to include Dial up enabler/disabler or Data Controller so data can be turned off via a quick link
- Could not find notepad application. Is it the same as notes?

Thanks jmart!

Something had to happen while you were updating your ROM. Your phone might have gotten bricked. Try reloading the original MR1 update and then reinstall the ROM

Definitely not bricked, when you have a brick, you literally have a phone that won't boot. No splash, no sign of life. Sounds like a bad flash, just like pm_mazur suggested, maybe flashing back to stock and then trying again.

Microsoft My Phone was removed and will be included in the Addons in Post 3. I haven't had any trouble installing 3rd party apps.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try and clear a few things up:

-The error with CHTE is a well known error, not anything to do with Teya, but with the program itself. This will probably not be fixed any time soon. To avoid, try not to exit CHTE from its start page.
-Wow! Definitely not normal, something strange must have been running in the background or possibly bad reception and your phone was trying harder to acquire a signal.
-Yes, PIMBackup is included and is part of Teya[Portal] backup "Contacts". I can look into creating a shortcut enable/disable option in the next release. You can find the .exe in the Windows folder.
-The whip2snap.lnk is incorrect. I will attach a fix cab as soon as I get back to my house or first thing tomorrow.
-Probably won't include Dial up enabler/disabler, because it may cause the slide to answer problems again. This is already available; press on an empty quicklink, Toggle Switch, select "Data". It does work and it changes data state, but doesn't "visibly" change. I am working on this still
-I don't include notepad, however, I do include Notes and OneNote

tried 1.5 and 1.6. a couple of questions:
1. handwriting and pinyin input method in 1.6 is missing
2. mms manual configuration instead of using the automatic config.

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

Well I've tested some aspects of the ROM and here are the issues I found. iManager icon doesn't seem to launch neither does Whip2Snap (which I'm careless about lol). I've sniffed out a poor quality over the bluetooth audio when it comes to hooking up the speakers. I'm hearing static when it comes to playing audio. when phone is in idle, the static is gone. I'll look up further into it.

Also whoever mentioned about My phone... Google it and you'll find the cab available on the microsoft website. If you still have trouble I'll send you a cab or direct link to the site

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

So far so good except one thing.

After i got 1.6 up and running i discovered i had an issue with contacts. so i decided to back up everything exporting with CHT and for double backup i also uses the teya portal backup. after reflashing i tried to import things after reflashing a few times and using either of the backups i get nothing but a black screen for the home page. Not sure if its a backup issue or something in my sence that i backed up was broken. Its weird because it was fine before i flashed so it wasnt a black screen prior.

Thanks. I actually have the cab file. For some reason, I was unable to install ANY 3rd party apps after flashing. I will try it again later. I had to go back to 1.4.0 so I could use my phone.

I actually got to install myphone without any problems. The only problem I'm having right now is a poor battery life span.. It gets me for around 14hrs until I get a low battery warning.. The thing is that I have a battery extender and usually using stock or energy ROM it should last for over 48 hrs. Is this a bug or are there too many processes running in the background? I am overclocking to 728mhz (yeah I'm not scarred :P).

sailorcanfly 03-15-2011 05:35 PM

Re: [ROM] Project: Teya 1.6.0 [11-Mar-2011]

the best battery span is for Teya 1.4 version. could you please check why the batter life of 1.6 is not as good as in 1.4 . thanks

This won't be an easy fix, I went back through every Teya release and it has been this way from the get go (I never get video MMS, so I didn't notice). This is making troubleshooting extremely difficult, I have been on it for the last two days! I will definitely keep working on it and hopefully it will be solved by next release.

1. The handwriting is not included in the WWE HTC keyboard, only the CHS version
2. Automatic MMS config only works for Verizon and it should configure itself on first boot.

1. Whip2Snaps shortcut is targeted to the wrong location, it is fixed for the next release. I haven't had a problem opening iManager, however there is a problem with iManagerConfig. This is not an issue with the ROM, but the program itself. The creator knows and is working on it.
2. I don't use bluetooth very often, so I haven't noticed this. I will look into it

================================================== ========

Other things:
1. I have had really good battery life with 1.6.0. Those having poor batt life, please keep an eye on running programs in ArkSwitch. Keep me posted if your battery life still continues to be less than you would expect. Please note: by default, the weather auto download is enabled and backlight is set fairly bright.
2. Third post [Addons] has been updated with the removed packages from 1.6.0.

Teya Updates:
1. I have a new Sys 29017 and I have started cooking with it using a completely new kitchen (I'm loving it!). As soon as I get everything dialed in, I will get Teya 1.7.0 out.
2. Fixed CHT state indicators

just because of issuses with battery with 1.5. I made sure I started out with a full battery ...i charged it up...flashed it let it run all customisations then let it charge again to 100, then reset the phone- plugged it in again; it read 93% so i let it charge back to 100 I repeated this cycle again and then it stayed at 99 this is after over an hour of further charging since it originally said 100%. is this battery memory? are we really ever charging our phones all the way.... battery life is sweet gets me through a day and home to charge thats what I need......and I dont think this has been mentioned but the browsers on the past 3 teya roms have given me the best web experience on a winmo device yet= really quite fast thanks again

1. Unfortunately you can't, it is not included in this release. By popular demand, I reverted back to the WWE version.
2. To be honest, I am not sure how to set up messagaing for your carrier. Hopefully there is another Teya rom user that has the same carrier that will help out.

I have noticed this as well, it seems to have always been this way (I think there was actually a thread a long time ago about the lack of battery charge).
This is my routine:
1. Unplug my phone when it is supposedly fully charged (LED will be green)
2. Re-plug; LED is now orange again
3. Once LED is green (usually around 10-15 min) I unplug and re-plug. LED will be orange again
4. Repeat step 3 a few more times

On a side note:
I received a couple donations without screen names, you know who you are and Thank You!! If you don't mind, shoot me a pm so I can thank you directly.

I hope you are all enjoying Teya 1.6.0!

I know all the parameters to setup messaging, but can not find out which tool to use to configure it. It seems that the config is automatically done during machine starting up and there is no way to customize afterwards.

I don't really have an ETA for 1.7.0, there are a couple bugs that are driving me nuts. I really want to fix the office sync and also video MMS. I have been working on these pretty much constantly for my last three days off.

As soon as I get these figured out, 1.7.0 will be released. If I haven't made any headway in the next week or so, I will upload 1.7.0 and continue to squash these bugs for 1.8.0. Think good thoughts, these have me a little stumped.:banghead:

I will include something like this in Teya 1.7.0, plus it won't drain the battery as severe.

Sys 29017 is just the "latest and greatest", so far from a couple days of use, it definitely feels little faster (could just be placebo though).

**Update**
I have gotten quite a few things worked out and should be releasing Teya 1.7.0 soon. I will be headed out of town for a couple days, so keep an eye out on either Sunday or the early part of next week.
