Hats off to you, maker of Orange Project.., I flashed the "Slimmed" version of your Rom, and have used it now for 20 hrs.. and am truely impressed with it. I can use it without an issue for all that I use it for.

I use the GPS features, txting, emials, weather set to 30 mins updating, frequently access opera browser... and still have over 60% of battery life on it, after being off charge 13 hours. at this rate i ought to be able to use it for about 1 to 2 days without being charged. I use the bluetooth paired to my car, calendar for apptments, reminder, and the alarm funtion.

I can not rave anymore about this version of the slimmed down version without verizon apps.. and love it.. as I said before.. hats off to you... this one has out lasted, and has out proven it'self over all the other roms i've tried so far...thank you much..

Pm me if you have audio/video issues with Youtube and Mp4 movies. Did you manage to get Vcast TV fully working after reboot?

Does this use standard messaging client -sense or wm messaging for text?

This uses the standard messaging client for text, like in Manilla 2.0/2.1. I choose this at the moment because it is faster and more stable than the Sense 2.5 standard messaging. I am working on the standard messaging though.

How much space and ramm is available after this install? You said you left the vzw OEM things intact so im assuming it still has the bloatware. ???

Next time I flash, I will note how much space is left. I can't give an accurate amount right now because I have things installed. I will be making a "Slim" version of this ROM, that will not include the VZW software. I left it in there because some people use it.

I deleted the vzw bloatware in the programs and my documents folders and deleted the opera 9 and rings files in windows and boot up at 53% in use.

Opera 10 huh? You folks really like that? I really prefer 9.7 because the zoom bar works. But I'll definitely flash this tonight.

The stock Opera is included not Opera 10.

This ROM runs very fast. I love how you've kept things very OEM so we can add our own personal customizations in. It functions FLAWLESSLY.

I really like how involved you are with this ROM, and how you are actively seeking input from everyone here!

The only thing that is stopping me from using this ROM is the lack of 6.5.x
It would be great if you could cook one up featuring that version of WinMo because I really love this.

Also, Cookies Home Tab Mod prevents HTC Sense from loading.

A couple of small things I would like to see...

- The ability to drag and drop items in the start menu rather than the standard "move to top"

- Background in all tabs

Thanks for the great work!

There's not much that I would change, since this is pretty much what I was waiting for, a fast, stable 21895 ROM with Sense 2.5 that is as close to stock as possible.

If anything though, I'd have to agree with the poster above me that Background4All tabs would be nice, and possibly a 4 row start menu. These things stray a bit from stock though, and I don't mind adding the mods myself.

That's about it for now, but I'll post back if I run into any bugs. :)

I just installed CHT 1.6.1 without problems, did you disable Sense before installing it?

Also, here's a version of Background4All that works with CHT:

Flashed last nite and need to reload some stuff, but this seems very good. I like it alot so far. Seems very stable, plenty snappy, and plenty of available ram.
Does anybody not care for the auto lock? I have a cab I'm going to try as soon as I de-tether. I thought the option was in the menu selection some place. Haven't found it yet. It's gotta be there. Nice smooth rom tho. +A+

johnbrain 03-26-2010 10:18 AM

Re: [ROM]|[WM6.5]|[21895]Project Orange ROM[Mar 25]

So far only one thing I have noticed.

Sometimes in the email tab the Options don't open up, so I have to go into my Inbox to forward, delete etc instead of doing it directly in the Sense tab.

I also noticed with Drell's ROM which is solid too that the Favorites I restore from MyPhone show up in both the tab AND directly in Opera 9.x Not a huge deal but if that was incorporated it would be great.

I have the original Swype running and don't seem to have any issues. Atom video driver on board. And I just use XDA Shutdown assigned to my media button to instantly lock the phone.

Other than that it is very fast and hovers around 69%

I agree the email tab doesn't open for me either, not a big deal tho.
I got tired of trying and not finding the auto lock disable so I pulled this cab out of an old file and it works fine if anybody else is like me and dislikes having to unlock your imagio all the time.

Which version of Wifi Router are others using that integrates into Comm Manager? I only have Tom Codon's from XDA that I have to create a start item from the app itself. I like what Drellisde has.

can someone say how much free RAM at bootup using the verizon-stripped ROM booting to TITANIUM? thanks.

jbh00jh 03-26-2010 12:31 PM

Re: [ROM]|[WM6.5]|[21895]Project Orange ROM[Mar 25]

At boot you should have 114-115MBs free ram and about 222MBs free storage. (Titanium ).

any chances for a 6.5.5 room?

johnbrain 03-26-2010 03:11 PM

Wirelessly posted (XV6975 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

I don't know the difference with 6.5.5 so I won't speak to that.

imho this is close.

The stock build is com2 with start button in top left. Com3 and Com5 (6.5.3 & 6.5.5) are beta finger friendly builds with the large icons and start menu in bottom left corner. Builds that are 21xxx are com2 and builds that are 23xxx are com3 & 5.
