I love this rom. Do you by chance have the original photo player cab to restore it because I kind of got use to it and would like to change them back. Also I would like to add the call history tab.

If you have these it would be nice, if not do anyone know whew I can find these cabs for sense 2.5.2012 thats installed?

Re: [ROM]|[WM6.5]|[21895]Project Orange ROM[Mar 25]

@wedgemoose

Well I make a number of calls and text and email a lot through to day, so far the orange slim build is the only rom I tried so far that doesn't seem to suck my battery down fast. Most of the other roms I tried would usually drop almost 10% in less than a half hour of being off changer just sitting in pocket or on desk. I usually end day with about 30% after fully changing all night powered off and then using normally with slim rom installed. I don't really use bluetooth as much because job won't allow it. I can say I noticed a battery time instantly after flashing and using Orange Slim Rom the first day.
Oh yeah also Ive learned if you really want to save battery you might want to keep location service switched off because it uses internet and gps to locate you regularly.. This is a major ram and power drain... Give disabling it a try snd see if it gets any better.

Wildman & Slaker3r, thank you both very much!!!! I know this isn't the section for my foolish questions, so this will be the last one on my subject. As you can tell I want to be able to keep this ROM very badly. But the Batt life was killing me. I am doing both your suggestions on my stock ROM to see if i can get it livable. Wildman, what does "disable location" do to us? Or what can't we use with it disabled? what are the cons. Also, should i uncheck "HTC location service" also?? I just un-checked the main Location service setting but wondering if I should leave the HTC on. (right now I have both off. Unless you tell me I'll will be missing something important (something we want location on for), i will try this for a few days.

thanks again all of you. If this help they gave me saves my Batt life even a tiny bit I'm putting this ROM back on. I loved it the few days I tried it.

P.S. Just so you guys know, I think that my bluetooth on all day is the KILLER. It probably is the biggest Batt hog there is.....

The bluetooth being on all the time is definitely one of your battery drain possibility, I disable mine any time I am not using or need it (Can set front tv button to disconnect internet when pressed).... Now as for disabling location service, this wont really effect any thing major really except the weather location tags, I just set my location manually and if you use Google map it may show issues locating you quickly but I use IGO 8 and it seems not to cause any issues locking on.

Also disabling location service you will notice that web connection wont stay connected all the time (Only When Needed) and this is a plus on battery power drain.. Another thing to consider is to disconnect from web when not in use, like after closing web browser or weather update. (Disable auto weather update also will help) Web will connect still when you click update now on weather or home page menu...

Hope I clarified this solution.... If you still have question, feel free to post back with any question and I will try to help...

One last thing, I am unsure how locked in you are to use Touchflo but disabling it will save you ram and power also, run Titanium without using Touchflo should improve battery life you can try The Nonsense ROM (6.5 Titanium Only) by maisonpulaski and see if it works for you...

Hey MP, The orange ROM is def awesome for being the most stable/quick running sense 2.5 IMHO anyway. But for those of us who prefer a non-sense ROM yours is fantastic. I always boot up with about 102mb free RAM. Very stable and very quick. Def not a "last resort" kind of ROM LOL.Thanks again for posting it. Not sure what else could make it any better. :) (running it for the past few days)

That was a wrong way to say that  , I just know that everyone has been locked into wanting to keep Sense and sounded like that might been one of the items that was liked about the Orange rom, good performance and Sense, was just pointing out that they can consider the titanium build only... Nothing meant, I actually am using the The Nonsense ROM (6.5 Titanium Only) build on my spare phone and it is incredible stable with minimal resources used.. Sorry didn't think it to sound like that :) because I wouldn't suggest if I didn't think it was worth a look..

My bad....

maisonpulaski- also check to make sure your phone isn't in global mode. under the phone settings, You don't need to be scanning for GSM networks you aren't gonna use.

BTW anyone else get the keyboard to vibration when tapped? I asked earlier and never got a clear answer.

Did you try going into your input settings and just tick that box. I unticked mine as I don't like the vibe thing everytime I hit a key.

@Patrickjb
I would like to use the default Coverflo Sense music player view but its been disabled but it appears to still be present in rom because when I install the Sense 2.5 Document tab cab not only does the document tab has original rotation animation but the music player get the original coverflo rotation animation back Can you give me the regitry that activates this back so if I decide not to use the Document tab music will still work normal?

Thank You...

I have another question, I have looked over a application called Wmwifirouter 1.6 and I was wondering if there is any difference (If Any) between this app and the option for sharing that is programmed as option in Orange Slim ROM when usb cable is connected. I would like to use this feature but I would like to be able to do this without adding the extra 15.00 with Verizon, they are already getting 120.00 out of me and I refuse to give any more...

Another thing I noticed within the last few days, I noticed that when I am using the usb cable on a pc to charge and continue using unit like making a call and holding conversation for a while the unit will show a message saying something like the unit charging method isnt good enough to charge while using and request to plug into a wall plug instead of pc...... Was this added into the Orange Slim ROM because this is the first time I ever seen this? This is a nice option but it just came to a surprise to see it...

Patrick, please don't stop developing this ROM. It beats the others I've tried hands-down for stability and speed.

Yes, there is a difference. The WiFiRouter app generates a wireless signal to connect to with another device, i.e. a laptop, or iPod touch. The other one has to have a cable connected to the phone.
It is really a quite useful app. I have used many times with no charges from Verizon.

Just wanted to chime back it. I am currently using more developed ROM's but I'd say this remains the most stable and with some updating would definitely be the best.

Hope you find some time to tweak the mail soft key, update Opera to 9.7 with favorites and bookmarks the same, and add the current version of Myphone and Live.

Best wishes.

+1

I use my phone for business most of the time, so having to soft reset every hour because some cutesy eye candy is freezing up the phone is unacceptable.

It would be a big loss if the Orange ROM became abandonware. :(

That's fine with me, I'm not a huge fan of 6.5.5 anyway. ;)

Any chance of a 21899 build with sense 2.5 with rotation enabled? :D

hi Patrickjb,
I flashed your rom before and it was great, very fast, smooth and clean but it is the beta version so that i had some broblems with it. I hope that your next rom will be a greatest rom :D.
Thanks for your hard work.

what a tease! looking forward to it though if it's as functional and stable as your beta.

I hope you include wifi sharing. I don't use it often but integration into the comm manager is nice

Glad to hear you didn't leave us I hope you can keep things close to the Orange Slim build you released, I have tried many other roms but always find myself coming back to the slim rom, I love the amount of free storage as well as the nice amount of free memory... Cant wait to see what you put together next....

Thanks for the nice work...

Hey Great job on the slim mod.. im really loving it!

Just a couple tweaks that i had some issues with..
1. the vibration when typing not being strong enough
2. The Xt9 completion not able to disable, you can uncheck it but it doesnt do anything...
3. No lock button app? <where can i find this?

Thanks for the great effort love that all the vzw crap is gone! :)

1. At this moment the first 2 questions has no fix of my knowledge..
2. As for a lock option you can either hold right end button to get a quick menu and select lock device or to make it easier just use attached cab I put together to make left soft key to lock button...

Found a solution to 1 and 2! :)

Installed fingerkeyboard and the vibe is back! :) AANDDD xt9 and word completion options can now be enabled and disabled!

This thing is blazing fast with this slim version!

Anyone care to share what their idle ram usage is? mine hangs around 76%
weather app and 2 rows of icons on home screen... With no push and skk tp2 dynamic tweaks..

fingerkeyboard is a 3rd party application that user its own setting and t9 settings. But glad to hear it works for you, I disable the vibrate and only use T9 occasionally because I can type faster without it on and the vibrate pulls from battery.

My average memory usage is around 60 - 70 but memory maid does well on restoring unused memory, I added a schedule that will refresh my memory whenever I wake device or when I unlock S2U2... Sometimes it climbs to 80 but usually drops down when schedule kicks in...

I am sorry to say that I am unsure if I am going to continue with the development of this ROM. I have purchased, and now used the HTC Incredible which is very much INCREDIBLE. I am still debating to sell my imagio (restored to factory ROM and HSPL obviously) or keep it and still develop for it every now and then. I will follow up with a post on my decision.

With the Incredible , HTC finally built a phone the way a phone should be built, and one that does what it is supposed to do , without lags , freezes , or constant re-sets . Also it comes stock without vzw bloatware and plenty of speed and memory to burn.

Re: [ROM]|[WM6.5]|[21895]Project Orange ROM[Mar 25]

I'm very intrigued but I've googled a few things and it seems that the Incredible is NOT very hotmail or aol friendly. I know some people are like drop those accounts but we've had them since the early 90's. That's like letting the post office return mail they've sent you, with a sticker of the new address, and hope they write it down. Hotmail mail forwarding is actually pretty good but I don't know if gmail let outgoing mail show as a hotmail reply address.

The iphone on the other hand is pretty accomodating, so it surprises me google didn;t follow suit. They know the whole world does not use gmail even if you require the account itself for the market.

Windows on the other hand works great for various mail platforms.
