New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped
 

This is a new ROM I have been able to get, its not released on Verizon site yet, so just use with caution. I have been using it for a few days now, and everything is good. Not a lot is updated in there. Its very similar to the other ROM, but does have a new SYS, and new Radio.

I enjoy it. Thought I could share it at least.

Download the first file.

Download this file.

Copy the .nbh into the RUU folder. and then click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe and it will start to flash.




download, and double click to install.

Nice. I see what Radio version is in there, but what build of WM6.5 is it? 23xxx? 28xxx? Still 21xxx?

21874, Manila is 2.0 still, 2.0.1922 radio is 2.25

Cool thanks for letting everyone know about this .. To me if its not sense ui 2.1 or 2.5 I'll stick with what i got till the hardspl is done ..

Thanks for the info conflipper. I might flash this over the weekend as I just got done doing a hard reset this week anyway. If it improves the memory usage some that alone would be worth the time. And hopefully the radio is a little better at holding 3G and maybe even slightly better reception even though it's already pretty good in that dept.

So is there any noticeable change with this new rom? Better 3G locking? Faster? Anything?

Anyone try to open the file - tells me the file is corrupt and won't open.

One easy form is by SdCard

1. Copy the NBH file to root of storage card
2. Rename to Whiteimg.nbh
3. restart the phone, push vol down and end button at the same time before splash screen shows
4. follow the instructions

I just overwrote the "RUU_signed.nbh" file in the stock rom flasher with the new one.

for step #3, do you hold the vol down and end button and wait for the splash screen to show up or do you just press it one.

thats the same question i had...its been so long since i have messed with that file with my touch pro that i have forgot..i now how to do the oraginal rom..i even tried 7zip....im so confused...lol

You can... Just extract the files from the original updater, and rename and replace "RUU_signed.nbh" with the file provided for download.

I just flashed mine via this method, with no issues.

the problem is that the file must be renamed Whitimg.nbh

im having a hard time with this...i downloaded the file..and its a rar file, i extracted and now its a nbh file....what am i doing wrong, and i cannot open the nbh file. i sorry for being so braindead.

have you tried this way:

Did you do that on your pc ? I know how to overwrite on the phone but have not done it on a pc , how do you go about it?

Hopefully this should help :)

Step 1 - Download the original shipped rom from here.
Step 2 - Use a program such as 7-zip to extract the contents of the .exe file
Step 3 - Delete the file labeled "RUU_signed.nbh"
Step 4 - Copy the file you extracted from the download in this thread to the folder you just created, and rename it to "RUU_signed.nbh".
Step 5 - Run RomUpdateUtility.exe

Just FYI, if you don't have extensions enabled in windows explorer, you won't see the ".nbh" ending. If you don't see this, don't include ".nbh" in the file name when you rename it, or the program will see it as "RUU_signed.nbh.nbh," and it won't work.

Thank you so much slack3r. I was still brain dead there for a couple seconds cause when i extract my files..i dont make a folder, i just extract them on my desktop..after i made the folder, all was easy...again, THANKS Alot. Its loading on my phone now...all i gotta do is activate it, and put all my things back on there which is a task in its self.

I flashed this rom to my phone, and truthfully i dont like it as well...it seems to me like it is running slower...maybe it just needs some time. im gonna try it over night to give it a chance..so far, the only thing i have noticed, i can hear better on it..i was going to go into the registry and increase the volume, but this one is already set at 5 unlike the shipped rom that was set on 2.

I never had issues with 3G in past. So I cant comment on that. I have had others comment about how the Radio did give better reception, and that the SYS did run smoother, with less lag.

huh. my experience is the opposite. this sys runs much faster/smoother without any tweaks compared to the old rom. I have more memory without tweaks then before ~ 60% @ boot. it also seems like i have more free internal storage @ 148mb with a couple apps installed already. i do not remember what i had before but maybe someone knows.

Visually nothing has changed. Radio will affect everyone differently but considering the problems people have had with data I would assume this radio is meant to address them.

the new sys in my opinion is better then the old one but others may disagree. cetainly 6.5 has come a long way and we started with a pretty old version of it. basically i would suggest flashing unless you really don't want to reinstall everything again. might as well get used to it though with hspl testing getting closer.

thanks for your input i beleive the old rom was at 180 somthing currently im running the 2.5 sense being that were getting a blizzard this weekend i might try it out and see if it adresses any kinks in 2.5

Anytime you install cabs that large wiht has many files for 2.5 it is going to cause issues. if you look at the number of files 2.5 uses to run everything the way it should, the amount is unreal. And so personally I dont do it for that reason, Because it is going to be taxing on the device.

Conflipper, 3 quick questions:
1) do I have to put the phone into bootloader before I run this. Is this the right instructions to access bootloader:


To access bootloader mode on imagio, do the following:
-Power down device.
-Press and hold the "-" volume key (volume down NOT up).
-Power up the device, release volume key once bootloader mode has shown on the screen

2) Do I need to rename this file at all when I put it in the RUU folder

3) Is this the correct Overall instructions to flash properly:
* Just put you Imagio in (tri colored screen) Boot loader mode. SEE ABOVE
* Connect the usb to your computer.
* Run the file (which is an .exe file) from your computer. ROMUpdateUtility.exe in RUU folder

Download and Double click to install.


If you are doing the other method,
you can just copy the file into the RUU folder. no need to rename anything,
plug device into USB port and PC
double click the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
And follow the prompts.

This will be just like flashing a regular rom.


I have now changed that so you can just load up the .exe that I have posted above, and it will be just like an official ROM.
