FWIW, there's no question the radio is changed (better?) since my location is slightly different than before

Strangely after the flash i didn't have to activate???? Past hard resets required this but not this time....

A flash isn't a hard reset because it doesn't erase your carrier info. You don't ever have to activate your phone after a Rom update or any other flash.

Why don't you just download the rom , the new rom will improve your phone as much as a new radio. It certainly will address the memory leak issue .

The new ROM has been really good on my Imagio so far. The only issue seems to be in the Activesync connection to a PC. It seems much slower to make a complete connection. Memory is great too.

I've noticed...

- A speed increase in the TF3D (updated version)
- The updated HTC Task Manager
- Much improved 1X/3G switching with new radio
- Slightly worse battery life

I actually thought about rolling back for the battery benefits, but I'll likely sit tight for the HSPL (and/or my buttons to stick again and call for a 7th replacement).

Got an issue -- after updating Im no longer getting email previews ("Click to view message") for my yahoo account. My other (AS) account works fine.

Ive since done a hard reset - no change. Ive tested w/HTML and plain text messages as well.

3.04 Rom? Yahoo problem? Any ideas?

I've noticed the same thing with my IMAP Gmail account. However much i like fast 3G locking and good memory management, its pretty important for me to have that preview. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix that?

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

I believe this was first seen on the TP2. It seems the Outlook pointers get corrupted after a flash sometimes. I believe the fix was to delete your account, and then add it back in. It will then reset the pointers. You could check over at the TP2 forum.

For those who have run this new ROM for a few days how is your memory holding out. Mine has now gone all the way back to 80% used after 2 days. I am running the Dynamic Resource Proxy fix, but I am not running the No Push Internet fix.

Thanks. Poked around in the TP2 forums but couldn't find a fix. Tried clearing and deleting/re-adding are no go too.

Since this apparently impacts Gmail too, looks like an issue with the ROM.

This was my first flash....unless there's a fix, looks like I'll need to learn how flash back to the stock ROM :???:

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Hmmm, I didn't delete my account completely, only "cleared" it and repopulated. Does it makes sense that outlook would no longer work after a flash? I mean, its a completely new image, isn't it? So you'd think that unless there was a problem with that image, then it should work. Weird.

Anyways, I solved my problem by connecting gmail through Exchange instead of Imap. Don't know if this is an option for everyone, but it works for me.

I don't know what you are doing , I never got to 80% with the stock rom that came on the phone.
After three days I boot up at 48% and it stays between 52 - 66% during the day. Make sure you close all your programs when you finish.

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Imagioman, I had a huge issue with exchange duplicating or actually multiplying my contacts, sometimes as many as 20 each. How I fixed the issue is to delete the account off of the phone and then clean up exchange and re-sync everything. I have been using gmail and exchange for the last 3 days with this new ROM and everything works great. Really like the new ROM. Thanks again conflipper.

Happy to report that the Rom is working fine for me as well:

- improved battery life.
- a little more responsive.
- seems more stable overall.
- doesn't get as hot? Anyone agree?

Hmmm thats interesting. I make sure I do close anything that is left open. At present my Imagio is sitting at 73%. I have the following loaded on my Imagio:

Iffy DisableTVIcon
.Net 3.5 CF
Phone Fusion Voicemail Plus
PsShutXP
TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy
TF3D Landscape Activation
TCruz Clean, Clear, and Colored v3

Going to uninstall everything I can live without for a period of time, which in my case is just about everything on this list. Voicemail Plus is prolly the only thing I really need. I am then going to give it a day and see if the mem stabilizes. I will then add one app a day and see how it goes.

Love the availability of the new ROM. Thanks Con!

If I decide to go back to the stock ROM where can I find it? Is there a chance I can brick my phone doing this?

Weird, and I do have everything set up correctly.

Mine hasn't done that yet , it is acting completely normal. I am on 2.1 now but was on 2.5 for several days and never had that problem .
Do you know if anyone is working on a fix for the My Location problem ?

It won't hurt your phone if you do not interrupt the flash while it is in progress.

Can I restore my phone to the way it is currently setup just by restoring an SPB backup? I.e. use the following process:
1) full backup with SPB Backup to storage card
2) flash to new ROM
3) install SPB Backup
4) restore full backup taken in step 1 above

thanks

Might want to try Timmy likes to click lower RAM - ShareMemSize .cab along with the Dynamic Resource Proxy .cab .
You can find Lower RAM-ShareMemSize.cab on page #1 of the Imagio Registry Tweaks thread , post # 9.

Yes. You can restore from an SPB Backup after you flash the rom. Worked well for me.

Could be coincidence but it seems that since I flashed to this ROM, my email preview tab just shows the email header and "Click to view message." Anyone else having this problem?

I assume the restore to stock flash process is the same -- download, connect the phone via USB and run the file?

Just a heads up, the Lower RAM-ShareMemSize cab and the Dynamic Resource Proxy cab are the exact same thing. Also, they will not help if you are using Sense 2.5. For some reason the registry settings do not stick and it will revert back to default after a soft reset.

Mine did this too, with imap gmail. I switched to Exchange gmail, and it now shows the full message.

I am using 2.1 now because it is a lot faster on my phone. Are there any problems with Lower Ram on 2.1 ? My memory stays between 52-58% most of the time so I really do not feel I have a leak compared to the stock rom.
Anyone working on the My Location weather problem ? Thanks.

Re: New ROM VZW 3.04 Shipped

Oh man something went sideways. I used the fully executable method with USB cable. It worked great. Then I installed the full system SPB backup I saved right before flashing the ROM. The setup looks the same, the memory is much lower, but I can't make a call or receive a call, zero call history, no nav buttons on the bottom of the call history screen, cannot connect to Windows Mobile Device Center (shows red X and say Error).

So I'm thinking now I need to hard reset into this new ROM and start installing CABs one by one rather than using the SPB Image, right?

Please remind a relative newbie how to hard reset this beast. Thanks guys and gals!

My first effort at restoring from SPB Backup led me to a hard reset. The radio simply would not work, nav links were missing, and it was randomly opening Add a Contact and the Calendar. Now I'm reinstalling CABS.

So has everyone learned to NOT restore from a backup after flashing a new rom? thats why we use sashimi or user customization... get familiar with them if you are planning on using hspl and flashing roms.

Just the first day on this new ROM so far I'm blown away by the battery life I got today. 16 hours through the day and still showing 70%. And I was using Google maps a fair bit with GPS on this morning. Historically, if I never used the phone once all day at the office it would normally be at 50%-60% after just 10 hours. Keeping my fingers crossed that the day 1 experience lasts...

Did the old rom pause music when the audiojack is unplugged? Never noticed it, but I did with this version. Yay!

Also, I was able to keep my phone on overnight without a soft reset... never happened before (darn memory hole). Double yay!

Much snappier performance, too. I'm happy with the upgrade.
