SMS help needed

Does anyone know of a program which can save my text messages into a text file right from my phone without needing to connect to my pc as activesync is acting funky and I can sync my phone.

You could use a backup app to back them up to your storage card. Like sprite. If you can find where the files are you could select and move them with file explorer.

Does that instantly convert them to text files so i can email them to myself and view them on my pc? also, my phone is stuck in data connection mode. Every time I go to terminate data connection, it starts right back up again. I've tried restarting and all. Any ideas?

I have been using Microsoft myphone and it has worked very well for me. Others that I have tried are dashwire, Funambol and Sprite. Myphone and dashwire are web based and off site they allow you to view and edit text photos music ring tones and contacts.

Moving them will only save them in the format they are currently in. If you use a notepad type program you should be able to view them on your pc if you save them on a storage card and use a card reader.
Not sure what is causing your data issue. I suggest you do a full backup of anything you want to save/keep and do a hard reset/clear storage.

I've got a cab for a Fuze (GSM Touch Pro) called SMS_Export.cab, but I don't know if it will work for the Vogue. You may want to do some research on that as a start.
