android Cupcake 1.5 build dated 9.9.09

good morning all.
i was very excited to find the 'new' cupcake at
http://code.google.com/p/vogue-android/downloads/list

however after installing and some through testing i have been left with some serious issues. my hopes are that with this post it will help the developers for future builds.

i shall start with the likes....

+ excellent desk top... especially like how the user has the option to make it bigger if one so chooses.
+ like the ability to freely add and remove any applications with simpicity
+ microsoft exchange and active sync are now included
+ bluetooth works semi-reliably to the tune of almost 85-90% of the time
+ low battery drain- when starting from full charge i have gotten almost 15 hours before i needed a charge.
+ works quicker than other builds
+ more widgets- COOL

the still needs help areas

- sound works only about 50% of the time
- will not charge or give accurate battery readings- when battery gets too low, i have had to reset back to WinMO to charge then restart HARET
- camera still not good
- GPS still no dice.. but i still have yet to get the darn thing to function anyway.

overall i give the build 1.5 thumbs up. if anyone has the ability to create patches and/or needs a tester please let me know. i am always willing to help in testing even if i suck at development/everything else

Thanks for taking the time to research this and post this. I personally haven't really messed with android much but congrats to you and the developers that are trying to make it wkrk on the Vogue.

Re: android Cupcake 1.5 build dated 9.9.09

android wasn't meant for the vogue, hence why all of the builds are soo buggy! trust me as ive tried all of them. if you want the real android experience go buy a real android based phone. the vogue should be winmo only im afraid.

Re: android Cupcake 1.5 build dated 9.9.09

You're basing your opinion on android on the vogue from one build you tried. If you want i suggest you download the Google Ion image. It's by far the most complete and stable. While mssmision makes some great builds the one your referring to is leaning more toward the experimental side with parts of android 1.6 aka donut.
