Re: Auto Device Lock Without a Password?
Maybe you should disable the default lock and install s2u2. That would allow you to do what you want.

Re: Auto Device Lock Without a Password?
S2U2 I tried a while ago. I don't remember exactly why I didn't like it, I think that it had something to do with answering calls was a little funky. Probably me just being picky. But this is a site that we are allowed to be picky, no?

It's a feature that I have wanted for a long time and I'm tired of waiting for a cab that will just fix the simple problem. I've tried half a dozen locks and never found anything I like. There has to be something that will get this thing to work. Come on, does anyone have an idea? Is anyone even able to point me in the right direction on how to figure it out myself? Where in the registry is the lock? |

Re: Auto Device Lock Without a Password?
Here you go, this is what i use on my Vogue running my own 6.5 rom (currently SYS 23003 but soon to change )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386451 Just install it and then run the setup in the folder it creates. In the setup I ONLY put a check on "Lock After Device Wakes". I leave everthing else as is! (this option is under "triggers and options") I had tried many other configurations but when you check other things it seems to get buggy but you are welcome to try on your device. Once you have this installed and that option checked, it will do what you want it to do if your backlight settings are set to suspend after a certain amount of time. The only other thing to consider it getting it locked while on a call. The "auto" options on my phone seemed to be buggy as well so to accomplish this ... Once i've connected a call i simply just toggle the power switch off and back on, then when it "re-wakes" it will come up locked with the WM 6.5 default in-call lock screen. Take Care edit: oh yeah, if you don't want to wait for the backlight to suspend the device just hit the power switch and throw it in you pocket... if it wakes for any reason after that, ie. a call, text, etc... it will come up locked in you pocket and not answer until you "slide to answer" Last edited by Vancer; 08-05-2009 at 10:19 AM. |

This is what I was looking for. Not a perfect program, but it sure gets the job done. I appreciate it. I've looked long and hard for something like this! |

For Sprint It doesn't require a password, unless you want it to lock every time. You can manually lock the device. I want it to automatically lock itself when the screen goes off. Like the Iphone, and like Palm. I've never seen a sprint WM phone that will lock itself everytime the screen goes off. Maybe I'm just missing something. Do you know something that I don't? |

Re: Auto Device Lock Without a Password?
Honestly I really don't understand what your talking about. When the screen turns off on the Vogue or you push the power button to turn the screen off, the device is locked!? In order to use it you have to push the power button to turn it back on. If you don't have the lock turned on then when you push the power button the screen comes back on. That's it. No sliding anything, no password entry nothing. So your saying you want to have to push the power button and then have to slide something to unlock the device!? Seems like your just adding something you really don't need. I don't get it.
