Did you follow all of the information in the link I provided. You have to do EVERYTHING. Step 6 is optional.

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

I am trying to set my phone (Verizon) up as a standalone GPS (no data plan) unit.

I have flashed in this order:
Coke .40
the 3.77 radio ROM
Coke 2.31
NFSFAN 6.5.

I only let customizations run during NFSFAN 6.5.

Help Needed with Setup of a XV6900 for Stand Alone GPS

I have adjusted my registry to:

EnableAGPS = 0
EnableGPSSmartMode = 0
EnablePDEIPFromNV = 1
GPSMode = 1

QPST settings are:

0.0.0.0
0
DBM
PDE

GPSViewer and TomTom do find the GPS but I cannot lock onto any satellites. I have left it outside for 20 minutes.

I did not flash Sprint ROM RUU_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_1.12.651.1_2.13.00_SPC_NV133, since I am trying to avoid calling to have a phone authenticated for the third time (twice on mine and once on this one). Could that be the key?

Not sure what else to try.

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

That could be your problem... because you're supposed to flash to a pre-GPS radio before flashing back to the GPS radio. Just tell them you had to do a hard reset, and they'll have it running in no time. I just did it last week.

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

it doesn't matter if you've changed the radio and changed the ROM, if you let the customizations run, the GPS chip is locked down to only work with VZ Navigator. Doing the steps in the link, you will unlock your GPS chip. After doing those steps, you'll have to dial verizon's customer service and have them re-authenticate your phone. You have to call from another phone. Tell them you had to do a hard reset. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes and you'll have working GPS. I just did it last week and everything's perfect now.

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

Maybe you have to manually configure the apps you are using to use the correct port instead of letting windows manage the connection.

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

but you have an xv6900, which is a verizon phone. That means that it was running the verizon software when it was first purchased. Which means YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THOSE STEPS or it won't work. You asked for help, so why don't you listen to the answer?

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

He is absolutely right. If you follow the steps and have your phone reauthenticated. It will work. I just did my remaining two XV6900s last week using these instructions. Its the only solution. I think I've tried them all.=D>

Re: Vx6900 Gps "help 911"

I tried everything else as well. And this worked.

Thanks for backing me up, mojodad.
