Re: Best app for finding out what is on storage card
I'd pick up a bigger MicroSD card. I picked up a 8 gb class 6 sdhc transcend card for like 16 bucks shipped from egghead a few months back.

Re: Best app for finding out what is on storage card
Try "Show All Files" first in case there are any large hidden files. I would suggest browsing the card through the File Explorer that comes with Windows Mobile. Then you can try Total Commander.

You can also go to http://www.cnetx.com/format/ and download flash format, shows everything on card and allows the ability to reformat card. It's a paid application but you get a 10 day trial before you need a key.

Re: Best app for finding out what is on storage card
I just tried both, but neither of them seems to have a setting that tells me WHICH directory on my storage card is chock full.
Any other suggestions? |

In the drop down list labeled "Type" select "Larger than 64KB." In the "Search for" just leave it blank. Then click search. Unfortunately they're not listed in size order, but this may help. |

Re: Best app for finding out what is on storage card
If you downloaded Total Commander 2.51 then you can also search for files of a minimum size that you specify. Just tried out myself, searched for all files greater than 1000 M and it returned only 1 file, my Garmin Maps file which is just over a gig. This works, you just don't get a visual picture of size. BUT you can organize the results of this search in descending order of size which is very helpful.
EDIT: Link to V2.51 cab 1. Open Total Commander 2. Navigate to the Storage Card root directory 3. Tap on File>Find Files 4. Leave everything blank except make sure to click the check box for "Size." 5. Select the greater than symbol 6. Then enter your minimum file size that you want returned. Re: Best app for finding out what is on storage card
I figured it out using the basic file explorer and by the process of elimination. I looked at all the other directories and nothing had very large files. Finally, in the Live Search directory, I had TONS of separate directories. Inside those directories, TONS more. I think there were five or six levels of subdirectories. Removing the program didn't help. I had to go and delete them. I did it in chunks and it took me over an hour.
Now, I have half my storage card empty. And yes, I'll go and get a new one, soon. Thanks everyone, for your help. Harry |
