Flashing to Bell ROM

I have a Verizon xv6900 that has the 2.31 unlocker on it. I have flashed to other 6.1 ROMs, but am currently running the stock Verizon one. When I flashed back to stock, I let the customizations run (I like the version of Opera that comes with it) and my gps is non-functional. I've fought Valhalla, all the "fixes" that seem to work only for specific users and am wondering if upgrading the radio will fix the GPS. I went back to the stock ROM because the bluetooth works with my Redfly. I would trade that for working gps in a custom ROM.

If I upgrade to the Bell ROM with radio 3.42.50,

1. Will I get the use of the gps back?
2. Will I need a new A-key?
3. Will this lock me into using only custom ROMs?
4. Can I flash back to stock Verizon and will it downgrade the radio and poison the gps again?

Thanks for any help. I've read ImCoKeMaN's threads about downgrading radios and am just a little nervous about messing with the radio rather than just with the ROM.

Um...sounds to me like you have some reading to do. Please view the different faqs that I have on my links thread. A link is also posted on my signature to that.

Or one of the other highly intelligent folks on this website will get back to you sooner.

Good luck.

I've read all the faq's and links in your sig and on xda. I don't have any problem with flashing the different roms, but I have yet to see a discussion on the different radio versions. For example, if the latest Verizon is 3.37.xx and they see a 3.42.xx on the network will it work, will they activate it, will it fix the locked down gps? I've seen a lot of faq's (especially about the Verizon GPS that say "flash the Sprint ROM ver. x.x.x, then flash some custom rom". They talk about it like it is just another step, but I want to know is what the carriers will do when they see with a new radio. I can't afford to call Verizon and have them say they won't activate a 3.42.xx radio and, according to imcokeman in the upgrades section, downgrading the radio is a good way to brick it. I'd just like to hear from someone that has activated a new radio on a different carrier. It doesn't look like anyone has done it on Verizon and I'm going to keep using my bluetooth gps.

Cheers,
David
