Re: WiFi Micro SD Card
that would be handy, but I belive the problem was/is a lack of a wifi control pannel, which should port from a titan just fine. the linke I posted has a cab with the driver.

Glad I'm not alone in this. I'm pretty surprised it didn't come with the drivers. Quote:

Re: WiFi Micro SD Card
So I have a quick question....what does installing the driver do for your phone. I just went ahead and installed it. It showed up in my reg files in HKLM/DRIVERS/SDCARD/ClientDrivers/Custom. Anyway, I was just wondering what these drivers do? and how they could affect wifi being enabled on the vogue.

Re: WiFi Micro SD Card
Hey thanks for the reply...well I guess I'll see about getting one. I mean what the hell...WiFi on vogue = priceless. Got to confess...I love my vogue, I've had it for 3 years plus and I have no desire to get rid of it. |

Re: WiFi Micro SD Card
Hey I have been keeping an eye on this card since last few months but I could not find any instance where anyone had reported any success in using this with Vogue, though I believe that for this card to work with Vogue, all it needs is the Microsd slot in Vogue to be SDIO enabled which I am sure it is, Check the specs here -
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&i...6900_htc_vogue (check expansion interfaces) So in my opinion I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work with Vogue. About the device compatiblity, It's definately fully compatible with wm 5 or lower and the driver cd that comes with SDW-823 does have all necessary driver and UI add-ons. with higher versions of wm I guess UI may not work but drivers should still work fine so for now probably you might not be able to see some apps like a handy wifi control icon on your today's screen but wifi should work fine. Check the attached file for more details. **** sorry having the problem in uploading pdf here is the link http://www.spectec.com.tw/download/W...pectec_Eng.pdf **** Now about the size, the standard size of a microsd is 15*11*1 while this one is 22*11*1, it's 7 mm longer which would make it hanging out on Vogue, but I guess it can still be used by just leaving the side chrome door open, though its not handy but workable if needed occassionally. All I am waiting for now is a reliable supplier and the price to go down a bit. FYI SD and mini SD wifi cards from Spectec can be purcahsed for abt 34 $ w/free S/H (even at Amazon or ebay) while this one is still above $ 79 w/o shipping and handling. By the way it has been more than a year now since Redpine Signals (a CA based fab company) first announced its wifi micro chips in Jan-2008, which can be used to make wifi MicroSD cards, see details at - http://www.redpinesignals.com/products_chipsets.html I wonder why still any US based company has not came-up with any product like SDW-823. I am hoping someone like Eye-Fi will soon comeup with something similar. http://www.eye.fi/cards/share_video.html PS: The biggest drawback with SDW-823 is, i guess it doesn't give you any additional storage (unlike Eye-Fi cards), so when You use it on Vogue you would be left with Vogues internal storage memory which after the OS install is around 128 mb, so the card is pretty much useless without having additional programs (that requires storage card memory) that might need wifi, like I was thinking of using Tomtom or Garmin online services which won't be possible with this. Hope it helps to those who are interested. I am all in for free wifi ...hate to use data plan when I have wifi all over and so still struggling with gps to work to a satisfaction without aGPS. Cheers, -Dj
