but if i set it to standalone mode, will the GPS work??

EDIT: okay okay, i downloaded MoDaCo's nodata.cab and disabled my data transfer and went into the advanced configuration tool and disabled gprs.....TomTom7 still connects....is that a good thing or a bad thing??

It will still work,
It just takes longer to work.

aGPS uses the cell towers to help the satellites get a lock
on your position quicker by using the data connection.
I'll post a link to my faq here in a minute after I add how to disable the aGPS and the no data cab.
hold on like a minute and you'll get that.

Shaggy you beat me to it.
but there's a cab installer for the registry locations at my faq.

I think this week I'm going to bring it over to ppcgeeks as a general faq and just have it at both locations so I don't keep sending people to xda. plus their servers constantly fail. haha.
