Vogue advice greatly needed!

I currently use Verizon Wireless as my provider, and I'm thinking about upgrading to the xv 6900. Being able to get it for free seems like a pretty good deal. I've just been concerned about seeing the big thread here about screen cracking. So I'm just curious to know if you guys would recommend this phone, or should I really just try to avoid it. I've checked out several reviews, and they seem to be hit or miss.

Re: Vogue advice greatly needed!

The vogue is a very nice phone. I've worked in the business a great while, and all I gotta ask...
"So what did you do to crack your screen again???" Lol. If you are rough on your phone, then a touch screen may not be for you. I had no issues with my sprint one, but something weird has to happen for a screen to just "get cracked". I would like to see one, and I would tell you where the excessive stress/impact occurred.

Re: Vogue advice greatly needed!

I've had mine for a while now and I haven't had any problems with mine. I agree with above post, some people are incredible hard on their phones and then are suprised when something breaks on it. Just take care of it and it will take care of you...

Just don't put it in your back pocket and you'll be good.

Basically I'm operating on a budget, and with my corporate discount from work, it's hard to turn down a free device. I'd thought about waiting it out for perhaps the Touch Pro 2, but given it's feature set, and the cost of the touch diamond and touch pro right now at vzw, I can't see it not costing me an arm and a leg! Plus with the vogue being so customizable, I figure I'd get along just fine with it.

Re: Vogue advice greatly needed!

If this is going to be your first windows mobile device I think you would love the vouge. The screen is nice and big and the design is slim and appealing. The cracked casing issue seems to have came and went I do not hear about it much lately anymore. I haven't had an issue with cracking or scratching at all but I usually keep it in the cheap case that came with the phone when its in my pocket. The phone is very customizible and there are tons of custom roms and support available for it here as well as on xda. For a first time rom flasher all the support and know how on this phone on the forums is a godsend. Free vouge sounds like a good deal to me LOL

lol, my case cracked, but I think it was an older vogue.
not to mention i do landscapping
and keep it in my pocket all the time while i listen to music.
also I have had a few instances where my phone would freeze up while I was working on building a rom, and i ended up throwing it a few times.
so that's probably why it cracked. hahahahahah.

I'm nervous to get the touch pro2.
I think I might have to coat that thing in thick rubber.
