Endless hissing when I end a call

Hello

I have an HTC Vogue and I love it. The problem I am having is a really annoying one. Sometimes when I end a call with someone, I notice that the external speaker starts to make a hissing noise. When this occurs, there is no other noise allowed to come out of the speaker. Therefore, I miss rings and alarms (Which is an issue because I use it for work). If I perform a soft reset, the problem goes away. The problem is that I have to do this at least twice a day. I work with WM phones, so I am somewhat proficient with them. If I am required to add anything to help all of you out, I will be more than willing to assist. I am currently running the most up-to-date ROM from Sprint.

I appreciate your assistance for this matter.

Check Task Manager to see if something is running when this happens. Also, when it is hissing try hitting the red end button a few times. You may have a defect with the device though so you may need to have it looked at/repaired. I would also recommend downloading an app called Cleanram. It really does help to reset things on my Vogue without doing a soft reset.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded it and will try. I called HTC and they told me that because I had "3rd party programs" that I would have to delete them for support. I bought this phone off of E-Bay anyways, so I don't know what else to do.

Unfortunately even on a level three clean, the hissing still continues. I wonder if there is a registry hack I can try.

You might just have to hard reset and then reinstall your programs. I would back up anything you want to save before though. Contacts/Programs etc. I think there are a few freeware backup programs out there.

Tried that too. Still get the hiss. It's a shame, I really like this phone. IS the battery life an issue, too? I just bought a new one and it doesn't last.

Battery life sucks since you're on a stock rom.
As for the hissing, could be the same thing also.
I highly recommend flashing to a custom rom.

I tried to setup the 6.5 ROM, but the unlocker wouldn't unlock the phone. Last year I flashed the official HTC ROM to the T-Mobile DASH and it was a cinch. I might try again with the 6.5 ROM tonight. I would be open to any suggestions on a good ROM of any Windows Mobile flavor. I appreciate all of the help and suggestions.

I'm afraid it sounds to me like you have a hardware problem rather than software.
