Constant Roaming =(

Hi, i'm new to these forums, and i desperatly need an answer for this
my carrier is CLARO, in dominican republic, and i had a sprint rom update
since then i've been having all trouble.. i can't sms,connect,call, anything.
It ALWAYS says roaming on the top no matter what..
from what i've read, programming fails too because i get the "VIva" operator.WTf? when i dial *228 a monkey guy talks.
so whats a prl and an eri, and are these the factors involved in here?
my dad has a gsm touch, if i manage to get those 2 items, will it be solved?

When you try and call out do you get a recording? If so I would follow the instructions "call ***" or whatever it may be. When I flashed a radio upgrade a while back I had to call in customer service to have my phone re-authenticated. I live in the US and have Verizon as my carrier but it sounds like thats the same issue your having. I'm willing to bet it's an authentication problem. Call up your carrier and just tell them you cannot place calls etc. they should be able to re-activate your phone for you. I have read in other posts "roaming" constantly on shows up on un-activated phones.
