Re: Something keeps my phone perpetually online
Recently I have been looking for a program like Zonealarm for Windows Mobile but haven't found anything yet. I'll be interested to see if anyone has a program out there....

Could it be your weather constantly checking for latest updates?
I set my weather appplet for manual updates. Bob |

Re: Something keeps my phone perpetually online
Does WM6 have any equivalent to Task Manager -> view threads/processes? I DO kind of suspect that a weather-type app might be responsible. Perhaps one that I enabled at some point in the past, then (thought I) disabled... but is still religiously going online to grab weather info that nothing is actually looking at anymore. Or, alternatively, where does WM6 keep track of processes that it's supposed to spawn automatically at startup? I've definitely noticed that after a reset, there's a 2-3 minute period of time between the home screen's first appearance and the point when I can actually DO anything without the phone being sluggish to the point of unusability.

Re: Something keeps my phone perpetually online
I found this. I wonder if anyone here has any experience with it. I'll try and install it tomorrow (if I have time) and see what it does.

Re: Something keeps my phone perpetually online
Well if it is a weather app you could do the easiest thing: backup data and hard reset. Of course if theres something easier do an alternative solution instead.

MemMaid has that function. It might be able to pin down what is causing it. Plus it's a must-have program.

Re: Something keeps my phone perpetually online
Update... I think I might have found the culprit: Winterface. I found an overlooked weather tile on my second page & removed it. Crossing my fingers and waiting to see whether or not it worked...
