Are you using a Stock ROM or Custom ROM?
What player are you using?
what video type of file are you playing?

Ive noticed it most on Stock ROMs as custom ones will usually include better optimized drivers and codecs/software

When using a Stock Sprint ROM, shorter movies would be OK but full movies and TV shows depending on the file type would get a bit jumpy, especially if there was some apps still running in the background but when I went to a custom ROM and made sure the apps in the background were shutdown it was alot better

Re: jumpy video playback on htc touch?

I had the same issue when watching full length .avi movies using wmp. I Installed TCPMP and converted the avi file using pocketdivxencoder to fit my phone screen and now it plays great.

Re: jumpy video playback on htc touch?

Have you tried to change the video mode in the tcmp player? To change it go to options and video, I have mine on GDI and it works fine.
