I use Google's sync feature, you activesync your contacts and calendar with m.google.com, it worked well for me. The pain in the butt was getting all my photos and such off my Touch.

thank you..
hmm forgot to add one thing.. i have my phone( touch ) on are server at work with outlook. my contacts /email shold all be back uped on there right ( on the server outlook ) if not i'll try the m.google.com i just want to back my contacts names /email and nothing else... no pic. no software.. etc.. |

Use PimBackup. It's free and I just upgraded from a touch to a Diamond with no problems.Plus most of the custom Rom's ( I flashed to RStoyguys the first few hours I had my Diamond) have PimBackup built in!
