Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I am running the official Verizon 6.1 with Valhalla. I have changed all of my settings to what Humpa has posted and have done a soft reset several times to no avail. ](*,)

I even tried to uninstall Valhalla using the uninstall tool I had downloaded when I first installed Valhalla hoping to re-install Valhalla to see if that made a difference. However the uninstall tool was giving me a message that the uninstall was unsuccessful.

Also I live in NYC and was wondering if it made any difference as to where your geographic location was to get this agps fix working from Humpa? Logic says no. Does anyone have a suggestion to make this work?

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I have been experiencing this issue on and off for the last few weeks. At first I thought it was the radio, and actually was able to have (2) replacements sent in the last several weeks. I pay over $300 a month for my service....don't ask. Anyway, I can say with certainty that they have fixed the backdoor.

After yesterdays reflash and reload, I decided to have VZnav activated and VOILA! My garmin XT20 software worked great! So did Windows Live search.

Then I went on line and cancelled VZnav and restarted my xv6800. About an hour later, NO SIGNAL!

So I can say for sure that VZnav works and everything else does as well, turn it off and everything quits. It was fun while it lasted.

Now I need to get my GPS back that I gave to my daughter. LOL

Well that was a nice Sunday afternoon surprise. Now if Missouri just beats Marquette this will be a pretty darn good day!

I get locks inside within 15 seconds and I've pulled the battery a couple times to make sure it's not a fluke. Works fine with Google Maps, Live Search and TomTom. No priming crap.

I first tested the Telus settings with QPST and it didn't work out, plus I started getting date connection PPP errors. So I changed the PositionCalculation to PDE (from "Mobile") with QPST and it's all good. I did have to enter my username and password for the data connection though. Not sure what that was about it and I'm not sure that they were in there before, but data is fine now.

To summarize:
I'm using a custom ROM, no Valhalla, Bell 3.42.50 radio.

I re-ran the QPST fix with these settings:
PDE IP Address = 216.198.139.92
PDE Port Number = 8889
PDE Transport = IP
Position Calculation = PDE

I brought the registry in line with these settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS]
"GPSMode"=4
"EnableAGPS"=1
"EnableGPSSmartMode"=1

UPDATE: these registry settings are irrelevant. I flashed a new custom ROM and GPS worked immediately without these extra registry entries.
"ServerIP"="216.198.139.92"
"ServerPort"=8889
"EnablePDEIPFromNV"=1

This seems to be working for me as well. aGps hasn't been working for me for while now. I can always tell when it isn't working because I will only get 4 sattlites. I did this. Now I'm getting up to 11 like when aGps was working. I also had to change Position Calculation to PDE. It did not work when set to Mobile.

OK, I just did another soft reset and using the above settings both Google Maps & WLS are now up and running! =D>
