New guy with a dumb question

I just got my first smart phone, a HTC Touch and Im just finding out that alot of yall have moved on and upgraded. Im not up to speed on the "abreviations" and slang going on in here. My question is simple, Ive looked around and I do want to put a theme on my phone. How do I do this??..I went to the thread but it lead me to a dead end. Do I need to unlock it??...I bought the phone from an individual so I do not have a contract with it thru my phone provider (Alltel)...Whats some simple things I can do with my new/old phone??...Thanx

Do a search for .tsk files. Your phone is QVGA. .tsk files are themes for windows mobile phones.

If you are looking for a specific theme or program. Point out a picture and we will be able to tell you what you need.

Oh yeah, you do not need to unlock your phone to install theme/programs

A Windows Mobile theme is pretty much the color of the top and bottom bars. It's the color scheme of all message boxes, etc... just like Windows computers. These are .tsk files (mentioned above). Copy them to your phone and to change, just go to Settings>Today. Select your theme there.

If you are talking about a background picture for your Today screen (main screen), its also in Settings>Today. Check "Use Picture as the background" and then select it.

I undertand how to change my pic for the Today screen..but what I want is some of these "custom" Today themes yall seem to have and posted...I have tried to download but says I cant...Or do I have to ask permision from the guy who created the theme??

Post a link of what you've tried to download. As a member here you should be able to download just about anything. The rule here is pretty much if someone posts it as a download it's free to all.

I see. I'm not running it(Wisbar), but Torx always does a good job with documentation. I didn't have any trouble downloading it. If you have questions I'd suggest PMing Torx.

1st - no such thing as a stupid question... Unless you didn't bother to search first, then you get yelled at... LOL.

2nd - Torx is great and his work is awesome, if you have trouble with the documentation, just post in that forum or PM him.

Ok, Ill give it a shot....Im just not used to the wording yall use here..Im just a begginer.....I dont have to do anything special before I download this do I???.....I was worried cause it was a rather old post/update....

When you are on the site to download the files most important is to read all the "read me" text. This will save you alot of headaches.
