Re: Touch Audio and Home Theater System

Wow, that is the cheapest bluetooth receiver I have ever seen. $10 bucks I will give it a shot!!:headbang: , and i have looked. Never thought to look on the sprint site as I am a VZW user. I currently use a monster cable RCA/3.5 adapter with the stock usb splitter, and leave my selection to shuffle.

I know my phone is paired with the FIPO 'cause I am able to control Windows Media on my phone with my Onkyo remote. When I look at the profile being used on the phone it says 'Wireless Stereo'. Is that the same as A2DP? Both the Touch AND the FIPO are A2DP capable so why no sound? Anybody got any ideas?

I was thinking, when you are paired, do you get the little headset in the title bar next to the Ev icon?

I'm trying with my Sony Bravia system and I get the same results. Units pair just fine and music instantly stops playing through the speaker but I get nothing through my system.

Re: Touch Audio and Home Theater System

I finally got a US number for technical support at Anycom and spent at least 45 minutes trying to get them to understand what I was trying to do. While they were pleasant enough, I was/am a little concerned that they understood. He could only offer that if my dock was not A2DP capable then I would not hear any sound through my receiver. I suggested that isn't that what the FIPO is, an A2DP receiver that converts an A2DP signal to an ipod connector? After much back and forth, he took my info and said he would forward to 2nd level tech support.

I think if others with the same issue were to call or email they may be motivated to respond more quickly than to one call. Here is their US contact info:

I was looking at my home theater documentation and found that my Dock is NOT compatible with generation 3 ipod. I have no idea what that is but it iis possible that the connector used in the FIPO is 3rd generation. So far that is the only possible issue i've found on my end. I will wait for a response from Anycom (see above post).

Hmm...Here's the specs for my HT unit:

  • iPod classic (80/120/160GB)
  • iPod video (5th generation)
  • iPod photo (4th generation)
  • iPod mini (1st/2nd generation)
Note: Make sure your iPod is update to latest firmware version. The Digital Media Port adapter for iPod does support video or photo playback. The TDM-iP10 is not compatible with the iPhone or iPhone 3G. The TDM-iP10 does not support charging of the iPod nano (4th generation) or iPod touch (2nd generation).

The TDM-iP10 Digital Media Port iPod adapter connects to the Digital Media Port (DMPORT) of the DAV-HDX279W, which is located on the rear panel of the amplifier, via its attached 38" proprietary cable. This cable supplies audio and control from your iPod to the DAV-HDX279W.

Hopefully it will end up being compatible. I'm really looking forward to using this feature.

Re: Touch Audio and Home Theater System

So it seems that your ipod dock specs are the same as the specs on my Onkyo S5100 with the exception of 3rd generation compatibility.

Separately, I took my FIPO with me to BJ's warehouse and plugged it into an iHome clock radio unit with an ipod dock and sure enough it worked and worked very well. So, there must be some design or technical reason why the FIPO is not talking to the home theater docks.

Hopefully I will hear something soon.
