how many processes in background?

I am using Fdcsoft task manager. when I look under processes there are at least 20 listed. is it normal to have that many? does it slow the touch down to have that many? since I don't know & can't find an answer just thought I would ask.

It all depends on what processes are running and how much memory they are taking up. Theoretically you could have 99% of your memory taken up by programs and you would still be fine (super slow, but fine). I try to keep my total memory usage at around 65% to 70%, leaving me a nice 35% cushion of free memory.
