Re: A ROM in the rough?
I just did the wife's touch (she had serious touch pro envy) and used this one:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36924 "[UPDATED 9/30/08] v1.6 WDM's M2D Diamond ROM w/ UC!!!" The Diamond rom won't work, its very different hardware. The WDM rom above is a very stable rom, very snappy, and nice look. gadgetfreak pointed me at that! If you search ppcgeeks for gadgetfreak taskbar you will also find his posts on getting "cooler" icons on the taskbar instead of the flat white ones. I did that too but have to admit the effect on the small QVGA screens is not as nice as on the Touch Pro/Diamond VGA screens. Do the WDM rom for sure, it will get you everything you want with no effort at all.

Re: A ROM in the rough?
the only issue is that there are more up to date versions of M2D now that WDM has not cooked into ROMs. Newer versions with better features. For instance, the ltaest version of M2D has a very cool program called footprints and shows more than one item in the calendar... See it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
There are people working on cooking the latest versions into ROMs, but I do not know of anyone doing it for the vogue. It might be the sort of thing you have to just post up asking someone to do... The Gers. Last edited by Gersonian; 02-03-2009 at 03:16 PM. Reason: Spelling Edit |

Re: A ROM in the rough?
Yep, for me I was specifically looking for stability with "that diamond look" *not* bleeding edge. Off a stock rom WDM's is great and it meets my "doesn't need me supporting the wife" requirement. Feel free to suggest other alternatives!
